Well, if you think they made the Punisher too powerful, boo hoo, cry to somebody who cares. That dial is perfectly justified by the comics, so there you have all the justification you need, you opinions notwithstanding.
You like Batman better? Tough.
Don't think Punisher should have outwit or do so much damage? Tough.
Don't like Garth Ennis? Wah-wah.
His work on the Punisher is as much cannon as Chuck Dixon's Batman issues are.
Why is it when people's opinion comes into conflict with facts (ie- 'I hate the Punisher' vs. The actual issues of the comic) people discard the facts and declare their opinion superior.
Tell ya' what, if the Punisher offends any of you sooooo much, I will send you my address, and you can mail them all to me....yes, that's right, Crazy Castiglione's Home for Wayward Punishers....
*better get down off this soapbox before I fall and break my fool neck.....*
If this had been posted before the Ultimates team ability was, I would have agreed that this guy would have been the new Batman/Deathstroke/Kraven clix of the future but with a much better damage potential. Now, however, knowing how there could very likely be @15 different clix with the Ultimates team in Ultimates, counting R/E/Vs and uniques, I'd have to say this guy is going to be an easy 50-80pts. for people. In the marquee, if ya play him you better hope your opponent doesn't get an Ultimate Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye or Captain America. Considering what these characters could get damage, powers and range-wise, I wouldn't be surprised if most of them could KO Punisher in two or three hits.
That being said, at least they made him good, even if his length of dial is lacking. Ya know what they say, "It's not how long ya live, it's how ya live..." His combination of stats and powers do upset me a bit, though, considering what could have been done with Black Widow, Black Panther, Captain America, Hawkeye, Nick Fury and even Moon Knight. (And, no, the Ultimate versions don't make up for it with me.) It's just strange how some humans get the "powered up" treatment, and others seem dramatically under powered. This is especially frustrating when superhero humans end up lower than vigilantes. Must be a personal preference thing there in the designer's office, 'cause I'm sure not seeing much consistancy coming out of there as far as dials for mortal humans in comics go.
Truth. Justice. Honor.
If we want them in our world we need to cultivate them in ourselves.

Nice pun(isher).
To me, canon Punisher will always be classic appearances in Spider-Man and Daredevil, plus the Mike Baron run on the Punisher comic. To each their own. I like the Punisher, I just don't think he is more dangerous than Spider-Man and more clever than Mister Fantastic.
Punisher shouldn't have so much damage or outwit. For the ones like Gacy's Clown that tell the others to read punisher comics, i only suggest to "don't only read punisher comics". In Hulk he didn't hurt the green goliath, in Daredevil he was seriously beaten (i know that he managed to win the devil in his own serie, but not in hand to hand) and i can remember lots of other examples by now (Captain Marvel, Marvel Knights, Spiderman, Captain America). I don't want to start a fight here, but i simply don't understand why the damages are running so high lately that invulnerability starts to look a silly thing. I want a game as much comic -wise as possible and for sure, Frank is great killing thungs and maggia criminals... but when a super guy comes into scene he has serious problems even with Ennis guiding him (remember the Russian).
The Punisher is just how I imagined him. Willpower for his Vengeance/punishment attitude (and Toughness for his Kevlar), RCE and stealth for sniping people out of bushes or from rooftops. When the going gets tough he gets mobile on the battlefield finding the weakness of his foe (running shot and outwit).
ONLY where WK gave him Smoke Cloud, I gave him EE.
I never realized Frank was so keen on smoke grenades
He was one of my most sought after characters and I'm majorly satisfied!!!
HEARTS OF DARKNESS!!!! Wolverine LE (70 pts), Punisher V (80 pts)...now that leaves 150 pts. for Ghost Rider V and I've got a nice 300 pts. theme team.

Actually just thinking abou it....Smoke loud can be quite nasty on FRank. Hmmmmmmm....
With Willpower he will throw that smoke grenade and becomes "invisible". When the dust clears at the start of your next turn, he's got free line of fire with RCE and doesn't take pushing damage.
Actually...NOW...I want Smoke cloud to be true and not EE!!!

I like the stats. I think the high damage is because of his weapons and that he shots to kill. Shot to the head bye bye most clixs. He has outwit. Yes he does. He is a trained marine folks. He has been in the NAM. Marines adapt and overcome. Kinda like outwit. The man plans so he has outwit. He does not need BCF or CCE. The man does not get in close if he does not have to. High attack. He is more then likely shooting a high powered rifle. Should have a higher attack then most normal folks.
Why wouldn't WP work with RCE? Willpower only states that you take no damage from a push. Any action you give as a second action in a row would be a push.
Originally posted by chuckkim00 With the new PAC, does willpower work with RCE? I've heard both yes and no.
huh?!
What do you mean?
You make one action..get a token.
Next round you make another action (RCE or whatever) and get another token, but Willpower keeps you from taking that click of damage for pushing.
Why should RCE keep WP from working?!?!?

And there you have it folks. A reasonable explanation for Franks "above human" capability.
Just get up close and smack that rifle out of his hands. He's just a human after that...right? Right?
Nope. He's the friggin' Punisher! Get used to it.
I look forward to planting Frank so deep in the dirt only the Ghost Rider or Mole Man will have a chance of finding him.
I know folks that have waited a long time to play him and I plan on breaking them of that habit real fast
