Then what's the point of being a townie misdirector?

The townie misdirector wants to target mafia. But odds are he's going to target town. The only thing that keeps him from not targeting anybody (unless he spots a mafia member on the thread) is that if he targets the killer, then he'll know who the killer is, thanks to the write-up.

Take that away, and I don't see why a townie misdirector would bother targeting people.

And how would a doctor out a mafia member from the write-up? The doctor would target the victim, not the killer.

Hawkeye is untrackable. That's why he didn't show as anything more than Hawkeye in fel's results. And we even confirmed that Hawkeye wasn't one of the other 3 who targetted me the night they failed to off me.

What if you've got mroe than one suspect at a time? Misdirection can help keep one enemy at bay while the vig/RB'er, or whatever takes care of the other. Do you want every player to become a cop?

If Magik knew who Cap was, I figure he'd been nightkilled. This looks like a Bodyguard attempt and Cap happened to choose X-23 as his target.

Ok. I understand that. Leaning the identity through who your target was and reading the write-ups was what I was talking about.

Misdirection doesn't keep people at bay. So I have no idea what you're talking about.

At least in the early game, the townie misdirector is only useful if they target a killer and can ID the killer through the write-up. Maybe the mafia roleblocker if he gets outed in the thread. And unless I'm missing something, there's no other reason why a misdirector would target people.

In end game they can be useful, especially if they misD the mafia killer onto themselves.

I missed your name at the end of the Dumas list. Doesn't clear you though as the Mafia clearly used him as a ploy to stall a day. Bringing back the SK is as good a target as they could get and the town had to vote him off. Being the hammer does nothing there.
