I say it's a disservice to the game and the players to not hold people to deadlines. Part of the game is getting actions in on time.
I would move on without them, but there are too many missing. The game's balanced assuming people take actions. I'm kind of screwed either way, and this afternoon/evening is booked for me so it might not open until tomorrow now.

Yes, exactly.
On the one hand, as the mod you know the game will be forever slanted if you modkill or just move on.
On the other hand, you took this time out of your day to do the actions and writeups and when do finally come in you probably wont have the time to do anything with them, increasing the delay.
I don't understand why modkills or replacement even come up this early.
Unless the missing actions are an SK or Mafia hit, they simply take no action. If it's one of them, bug them for an hour. If nothing randomize into a ####ty result.
"Why would the possibility of me being wrong ever stop me from doing something?"
Don't know if you guys care, but Switchfoot just came out with a new album and it is their best yet.
Don't know about Switchfoot, but Machine Head came out with a new album and I wasn't even aware until I went to Hastings. Now I just have to figure out if I care at all enough to buy it.

Does your Hastings actually procure things and sell them upon release date?
I'm curious, since ours seems to never have major #### ready for release day. They had 4 copies of Halo 3 for their "Halo 3 release party".

Surprisingly they do have their act together. They'll even get their comicbooks allocated to them before my local shop does. If there aren't enough books for the region, Diamond will fill their order prior to filling the shops order. They'll even get their books on time when there's a supposed "holiday" delay.
But, I do live in a city of something like 60k people, so it's not hard to support that. I don't even think that had a midnight release party this whole year.

You're assuming only one key action is missing.
EDIT: We now have enough actions to move on. My time today is spotty, but I'll do my best to get it open.
Just finished the sealed event for superman at my venue. Queen of Fables cleaned house, came in second thanks to the Flash. Walked away with the LE Bizzaro Girl though.
