I have had some oddly tough brackets lately.
I did my usual 1am finish for the PVP using Shang Chi. I got my usual 1000+ points. Usually that score is a solid T50 with an occasional T25 or better. This time it got me 72nd.
Similarly I am in my usual slice for Strange Sights. After finishing my first sub 2 clears I was sitting at exactly 50th where I would usually be in the 20s or 30s.

Shang Chi PVP was very interesting. Like, the game itself was more interesting. I can't speak for others, but I played the heck out of it over and over because I enjoy using him so much. And when he's built to 5/5/3 (and that is the correct build, you're welcome), I think he's going to be an interesting 3rd replacement for my current most-fun SHIELD Sim team of Onslaught/Prof X/Apocalypse (with Apoc sitting down for Shang-Chi).
As for Streange Sights, I'm having the opposite happen. I played my normal (though fortunate) bracket/subs and I'm sitting in top 20.

Nice. Maybe your players jumped over to my brackets.
Odin should be essential at least two more times before he leaves, right?
I am at 4/3/5 with 25 shards right now. Each time he is essential there should be 250 shards from progression alone, plus any placement rewards.
If he is going to come up twice, then I will get that 13th cover for him without having to make any pulls.
That would mean I would be doing my next mass pull when the LL store is Shang Chi and the two after him.
I just made five pulls in the Shang Chi store and got him on #5, so that is out of the way.

Two before the roll out of the LT store and once shortly after they roll out.

That is what I thought. Thanks.
So I think this will be the schedule for LLs, assuming they remain steady.
The anniversary might tinker with things.
Last rotation (Odin in): 8/23
Next 1 (Shang Chi): 9/20
Next 2 (???): 10/18
Next 3 (???): 11/15
If I can bank on enough Odin shards, which I should be able to do, then 11/15 is my next date for a massive hit of the LL store....opening until I get Shang Chi to 13 covers.
That is 74 days from today.
Currently have:
2181 CP
11 LT
98 pulls
Using the rough 3 pulls per day guesstimate, I would get 222 more pulls by then.
That is a total of 320 pulls, so i like that.
I will obviously have to make some pulls between now and then to get the guy after Shang Chi onto my roster.
I want to have a bit of an idea about what I have to play with during the anniversary in case that store is a good one, as it tends to be.
I figure that I can come back to this post when the anniversary happens to see what kind of rate I get between now and then, then I can extrapolate 2from there to figure out how many pulsls I would be reasonably safe to make at that time.
There's no way to look up your rankings after time ends, is there?
I'd like to get a sense of how far I am from hitting the next bracket in PvE... or, sometimes, how much I can slack off to keep from dropping out.
Also more than a little confused about my comparative performance in Venom Bomb vs Strange Sights. I was just less than a hundred points from full completion with Venom, even though the weekend let me start each round right when it emerged and I did the final runs as close to the end point as possible. For Strange Sights, I hit max progression before I even finished my 4x last night. Weird.
(And yes, I'm still salty about being SO CLOSE on Venom. )

The event should still show for a day or two after it is over. If you click into it you can look at your rankings.
The general rule of thumb I have always head is that the bare minimum for full progression is that you need to hit every node enough times to start the timers plus one more hit.

The biggest thing holding me back is not having the 4* characters. That's a lot of points to leave on the table. I know it's just something to be patient about.
This was why I asked about start times, to do what I can to work the timers.

(And, as always, thank you for your help!)

What SCL are you playing? You may want to shift down a level when you don't have the 4*
SCL4, the lowest I can take. I figured I'd try it for a while, see if it was too easy. Results are mixed so far.
(And yes, I know... go highest you can on PVP, highest you can handle on PVE.)
-J
Highest on PVP, for certain, since your SCL doesn't determine your opponents, so you may as well be playing for the best rewards.
PVP, yes, high as you can handle. I don't really know how SCL 6 and lower run (when SCLs started I'm pretty sure I started in 7 or 8), but I imagine at some point maybe the 4* isn't needed and maybe that's "what you can handle" for now.
Overall, when it comes to PVE, I highly recommend the philosophy that progression rewards are more important than placement. It reduces stress of play times and it's predictable what you'll get.

At 4 the "Essential Heroes" are 2/3/4*. I've got every 2* but Bag-Man champed, so no concern there. Beast and Star-Lord are the only 3* I don't have yet. But I only have a dozen 4* so far (and actively avoiding more).

Patience. I'll get there eventually.

Well, if you're actively avoiding more (and I get that, you need to grow into the game organically), that's what you're balancing against "can't hit the 4* node each time." (And I'm sure, you know that)
