Not Hoff, but you can build a machine to do this.

Set it up so that you turn a crank, which rotates a vertical gear, connected to a horizontal gear. As that gear turns, it pushes an elastic-loaded lever until it snaps back in place, hitting a swinging boot. This causes the boot to kick over a bucket, sending a marble down a zig-zagging incline which feeds into a chute. This leads the marble to hit a vertical pole, at the top of which is an open hand, palm-up, which is supporting a larger ball. The movement of the pole knocks the ball free to fall through a hole in its platform into a bathtub, and then through a hole in the tub onto one end of a seesaw. This launches a diver on the other end into a tub which is on the same base as the barbed pole supporting the mouse cage. The movement of the tub shakes the cage free from the top of the pole and allows it to fall, catching the mouse.

I always hated that game. It took longer to set up than play and someone always messed up the trap before play finished.

Back to my negative karma... my iPod touch died late last night. This device is always with me. I check emails/facebook/messanger/ebay on it constantly. I use it to time rounds at clix events and build teams on it. Not to mention I've logged a million hours on Family Guy Quest for Tiny Stuff.

Won't turn on. iTunes won't recognize it when I connect it to my computer.

Remove its concealment options, backing it into a progressively smaller area, while blocking any possible routes of egress. When it makes its move, apply a large boot or shoe directly upon its head.
