As a townie? Because he really got Quebbs targeting Pax and didn't read the writeup carefully.

As a mafia member? To make Quebbs look like the vigilante until the role was claimed or if the vigilante died without anyone realizing it.

I don't think Truffs is the killer unless the mafia has an RT. Which, I've heard is overpowered. I know in one game - I think HAWTness Redux - the mafia could choose anybody to make a kill. Don't remember if it was unRBable.
