thought Sun Boy s first appearance was before Human Torch debuted in 1963, with Fantastic Four? Think that Sun Boy was in 1961 or 1962? so that Human Torch should be a "2nd rate Sun Boy"?
The FF debuted in 1961 (as did I), not 1963 -- just to clarify. Cover month of November, that would have seen it come out, what... three months earlier? So roughly August of that year. Of course, Sun Boy debuted in Action #276, with a May 1961 cover date -- so, roughly February, so Sun Boy definitely did arrive months ahead of the Silver Age Torch, but as we've seen there was at least one other before both of them. Possibly worth noting is the 1950s Marvel Boy, whose wristbands absorbed sunlight and could release the same as concentrated blasts, though that was mostly just as blinding light, meant to be a defensive weapon.
I'm definitely not going to get onto the "who's the more original character?" stage, though. It's such an incestuous medium that I've long since just tried to take each character on its own merits, seeing what various writers have done with him.
Edit: Whoops!

Thus are the perils of responding to something in a thread without checking to see if someone else already covered it!
Take the Marvel talk somewhere else - this is a DC thread.
Oops! Apologies! For me this was a case of a newer post drawing me back into a thread I'd posted in a while back. I absolutely forgot which thread we were in.
How about the upcoming Beast Boy/Changeling possibilities?
I know we've seen two of them - the human form and the dino one - each for 60 points and with a Trait we're at least speculating will allow him to swap forms (on the same click, of course), but has it been officially confirmed that we'll have two more -- making one for each rarity level? I've been grazing here and there, not combing through each thread to see how official some of the chatter really is.
I don't know about everyone else, but I'd like to see one or two Black Lanterns other than Scar appear in this set. The BL Firestorm especially has gotten a good deal of attention in comics, but I'd love to see some of the others too, especially since the BL versions of the twelve resurrected super-stars appear to be returning in Brightest Day. Aquman and the Hawks would look fantastic!
I think he's looking at the pictures of WL-Ollie and WL-Hal that are on the solicits with John Stewart, Superman and the others and assuming they're "in the set." As far as we know, there are no White Lanterns in the DC 75th proper, just the ten-figure "sub-set."

When it comes to Superman and Batman, Grant Morrison is nothing but a 50's cover band in a 70's psychedelic funk style.
No it HAS NOT been confirmed merely a hope that they make 3 versions One a giant and 2 others perhaps flyer or a swimmer. Of course as soon as they do that I await the massive cry of who the BLEPP wants 4 Beast Boys in a set lol

Yeah I find myself perflump as normally I decry having multiple versions of a figure in the set who are basically an REV and not even a big BB fan but find this possibility intriguing enough that I support a few figures for him even though I am not sold on AE in general
