First of all, I should ask, are we talking about the GSX colossals? I'm under the impression that the first time we talked about this you specifically meant those, so when I respond to you, be aware that I mean those specifically. My answers change quite a bit when we include some of the previous colossals. I took their implementation in GSX to be a signal that Wizkids had learned how to do colossals right, so I assume that they will be similar from this point on.

I haven't found this to be the case at all. I've had a lot of success with the cheaper ones (especially Frost Giants), and the more expensive ones are an interesting challenge to use.

That depends a little on which ones you bring. Moving multiple Frost Giants is kind of a hassle, but I didn't have any trouble managing the one Sentinel that I brought a few weeks ago.

That depends on the colossal, but I disagree as a general statement. The over 300 point ones are pretty impractical, but the under 200 ones that I've ever had experience with worked wonderfully. And the big ones certainly have their place as scenario pieces and bricks in large point games. I would say that any figure over 250 points is impractical to put on most teams, but I don't mind seeing them in sets.

Which ones are too good in your opinion? I can think of a few that aren't good enough, but over 400 points I was under the impression that they were all pretty weak.

That's true for sure. Although is that a fact on the price point? I wasn't aware that there had been any comment on that. My assumption was that the price would be similar given that there are the same number of standard boosters in a brick as there were in GSX. If the inclusion of colossals in Galactic Guardians substantially increases the price of a brick, I agree that I'm a lot less in favor of them.

Interesting. Anybody else got a rough idea of how they performed in your area? My guess, which is based completely on speculation and not at all on fact, is that Captain America undersold, but Superman was around the normal level if not slightly above.

The repaints bug me. They make the sets seem repetitive. If they want to use repaints, why don't they space them out? Give us Lyra now and then Thundra in Galactic Guardians. Give us John Jameson now and Rick Jones in Might Avengers. If they planned these things out better, it wouldn't feel like the sets were bogged down with reused sculpts and repetitive figures so much.
It doesn't bother me a lot as is, but I'm not sure how I would feel about re-used sculpts in different sets. I'm probably being paranoid, but my first impulse is that once you open the door to doing that there's no limit as to how many sets you could see the same sculpt in. It would really bug me to see that stupid Peter Parker/Ben Riley sculpt from Web Of Spiderman as the template for every single male alter ego from now on, for example.

I don't know how I feel about that. Any word on if that effects the price of a brick or case? $35 doesn't seem ridiculous to me for a large-sized colossal, but a lot of that will depend on how versatile the dials are. Once it creeps up closer to $40, it starts to seem like too much.

The only information I have is what I provided in the link. I can imagine if it does impact the price of a brick, there will be some holy hell raised.
McDonald's taught Asians how to stand in line, and the Golden Arches are a magical beacon that promises clean, Western-style bathrooms wherever you go in the world. It is not without some measure of respect that US expats call them "the American embassy."
McDonald's? Clean bathrooms? It makes me nervous as to what the standard of "clean" is.

I'm not as much of a fan of Book of Five Rings. From what I recall of reading it, it a much higher ratio of mysticism than The Art of War and less actual discussion on principles of strategy.

I was going to type up a detailed response to this, but I think commandercool already hit all the main points I was going to make.

First time you go to Europe and have to pay to use a toilet, open the door and see that it is only a hole in the ground that you have to squat over you will understand why people in other countries go to McDonalds for bathrooms.
I'd seen the references to the Galactic Guardians Super Boosters being larger (reportedly they'll be turned on their sides at the end of the brick) and more expensive, but figured I'd take it one step at a time, being as focused as I am on what we have in Clix between now and the end of 2011. I'll react as Wizkids makes firmer statements and/or I see what they do to the case price.
My biggest problem with colossals is probably... me. I almost never seem to use them. There's an intention to use them, but they quickly slide down the list of pieces I want to field and I don't seem to get around to them. So far they've become display pieces for me, and not much else.

Its almost more of a self help book then a book on stratigems. It is about finding what your best at and applying it to your every day life in every aspect. Knowing your enemy/customer/compitition as you know yourself. But to me the art of war is more of a suggestion then a code, and its value is only relative to the person applying it. They both have their value, but in my honest opinion The Book of Five rings is WAY deeper and hits on every level of life not just the battlefield and chess.

.
Bolded is confirmed.
Also note only indivudal sale is reported as a price increase but Booster and brick prices have not been affected as of yet.

But should we expect that it won't bump up prices?
I suppose they could declare it has a higher price separately while still charging the same price per case at the wholesale level, as Wizkids will only be selling sealed cases. If so, this would increase the incentive for fans to buy at the brick level and above. At the moment, though, I'm just finding it difficult to believe that these will be substantially larger -- and likely heavier -- and Wizkids will simply absorb the difference. I'd love to see them do it, but I can't bring myself to expect it.
