Last night I had some free time after the kids were asleep and decided to start watching a new series. Chose Locke & Key on Netflix. I've only read a couple of the comics over the years, so it's all new to me. I love it so far. Just the right amount of suspense, character development, and mystery. Any of you guys see it before?
If my boy was maybe 2 years older, I'd let him watch it. Great spooky adventure/fantasy so far.
A while back my hard drive got corrupted. Not by a virus, probably over use, or old age. Unfortunately it affected my MP3 collection. This is not stuff that I downloaded but ripped from CDs that I owned <-- see past tense there. The wife and I got rid of many CDs the summer before covid hit to free up some space and get a little money. The money wasn't the best and a lot of the cash was increased because we chose trade in at a store we frequent. We decided to get rid of the CDs that we were OK with getting rid of, i.e. we have a digital copy so why keep the cd anymore mentality. That sure kicked us in the butt.
This is how it hurt. Over the many years we have been married we have picked up CDs from flea markets, yard sales, and book sales, paying a buck or $2 for the CD because there was at least 2 songs we liked from the album. We listened to the album to see if we liked it and if we did, then great, if not then we had our favorite songs from the band. It's those instances where the 1-3 songs per album add up and we have accumulated hundreds of CDs but 3-500 songs. That was like our "Best of" collection that is hard to replicate and we are too cheap to try to buy each song individually.
The good news is that our favorite albums/bands are here at home so that;s good. Just going to take some time. That's why I am sitting here ripping the CD collection again but now I am with fewer CDs and even fewer songs.
I wish I had friends around who had X,Y, and Z cds so I could rip them.

As an IT guy, back-up, back-up, back-up.
