Women's history month is closing soon so let's focus on Nightwish. They have had 3 vocalists so far so choose your favorite. The song is The Siren and a great way to show vocal ability.
Since I just posted for the first time in Rock Wars, thought I'd go to this thread as well.
My taste in music is probably not too exotic, mostly listening to current pop and dance music, with a little dash of French chansons, classical, celtic, symphonic metal, and euro-trash .
But one of my favorite all-time musicians is Enya, so maybe a good fit for woman's history month To me, her music is so rich and melodic that I can keep listening to it. My favorite three songs of her are Caribean Blue, Book of Days, and Echoes in Rain (but the favorites sometimes change over time...)
Other favorite female artists that I love their voices, and most of their songs, are Sia, Within Temptation (Sharon), Pink, and (her French repertoire) Celine Dion.
I've been listening through the back catalogue of Hearts of Space programs, and I was mildly shocked when "a promising new artist named Enya, spelled E-N-Y-A" was mentioned.

I’ve followed Nightwish a small bit the last couple of years. At first the very metal/operatic mashup was a bit confusing to the senses. Honestly, although the metal is good and the lead vocals are great, I still can’t fully appreciate the integration. Sometimes it takes a while to embrace uniqueness.
I think I prefer Annette’s vocals, although all three are very talented.
I wish I hadn't been so busy this month so I could have posted more for Woman's History Month. Anyway, I'll try to get as much as I can posted in the next three days. Here's Part 1:
Amanda Palmer (my favorite musical artist. I might make a post here later with a bunch of her songs)
Coeur de Pirate (one of the final four artists in the current rock wars)
ALIVE (Sia) - I love this song and the video for some reasons unrelated to music. I've studied and taught Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do for about 45 years. People sometimes incorrectly say that TKD is an ancient Korean art. Although some techniques come from older Korean, Chinese, and Japanese styles, many do so through Shotokan karate, developed in Japan in the early 20th century and carried to Korea in the 1940's. The young lady is an actual karate kata champion doing Japanese forms. The last one is identical to a TKD intermediate form, integrated into Korean Moo Duk Kwan TKD and Tang Soo Do, taught to color belts. Love that Sia used that video to speak of life.
Marie Laforet: Another one I might have nominated for the recent Rock Wars. I got off an unusual collection called Late Night Tales Belle & Sebastion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsnAkrY43RE
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
If you are in the mood for some atmospheric sounds, I was turned on to Steve Roach's Dreamtime Return double album by my relistens to Hearts of Space. It is available on the HoS site, as well as on YouTube. It was released in 1988, and I believe it was remastered in 2005. It's quite ethereal, and one of the most "space music" albums I've listened too.

Nanci Griffith: Sadly, i never knew about her until after she passed. This song might stir memories for those of us who used to frequent Five and dime stores like Ben Franklin and Woolworth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GK462XnRjQ

That is a very nice collection of some lesser-known songs by very famous performers AND some performers new to me. Particularly enjoyed the Patty Loveless song that I didn't know and the Quarterflash songs that I just hadn't heard in a while.
