My wallet is actually kinda glad that I'm not getting any new clix right now. With all the new stuff coming out I'd be hard pressed to keep up, especially with a baby on the way.
I don't care about Cap enough to really miss it yet. When Superman comes out later though that's when I'll likely get the urge again. It'll be hard to look at all those Flashpoint figures and not want them. I won't get them, but I know I'll be tempted.
It's like Michael Jordan going to the YMCA to play basketball.
Welcome Charlie (Charles William Cook)! Born 7/14/2011!
I think you should actually play with them before passing judgement.

Having not played them ( @ Muncho), I like the set. The generics are fun (that Howling Commando is nasty). Red Skull can bring back LAMP teams. Sin & Widow are solid for the points and there's a 50 point Cap. They'll be worked onto many teams.
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.

I don't need to play them to pass judgement.
Two nights ago, another player and I bought the 20 figs that were left at our venue. Luckily, between us and trading with other players who had bought theirs earlier, we both still got a full set.
We noticed that the Cap on the box does not match the Cap in the set. No Steve, just Bucky.
"Has the Imperial Magistrate reached a verdict?"
"I have."
"Guilty or Innocent?"
"Innocent."
"Feed WizKids to the Sharkticons."
For some people HeroClix is more about collecting than playing. I'm one of those people. I collect that characters that I want and I'd rather have a Steve Cap than Bucky. I play with the characters that I like after I collect them. Sometimes I win. Often, I lose. If I like the character enough, I keep playing with them even if they don't really help me win.
It was a pretty effective strategy in the bygone era of Clix, wherein Lockjaw would transporter around a Poison piece (Joker) armed with Armor Piercing. When folk took a swing at the Poison piece (Joker), he would Mastermind the damage onto Lockjaw (who has Toughness).
The strategy was cheap enough to include other figures for a variety of additional strategy profiles as well.

If there is one failing to the GF set for Captain America, it's that out of ten figures they couldn't get a Steve in there, even if it was a redialed Steve Rogers.
That said, what is in there is pretty good. Love the Howling Commando, and Sin is pretty nice. I played against Red Skull and I pretty much had to Barrier him continually to win the game. Bucky Cap and Black Widow do the job of whetting the appetite for the main set.
Next time you guys do a GF for one guy, make sure the guy is in there.

In all fairness to Bucky Barnes, he goes by the name "Captain America" too.
