I'm glad I couldn't make it - such blatant cheating

Twice last Friday.

The previous week when you were on vacation, I think Gregg was the only one that didn't accidentally cheat somehow.

Steranko's Twitter account is a must-read, even if you aren't a fan of Twitter.

From this, I surmise that Harpua takes a bigger dump than vlad.

The first comic I ever read was Captain America 113. Been a fan of Steranko ever since.

At one point I had about 25 comics where he did the at minimum the cover art. I kept Cap 111 and 113 when I sold everything else, because they came from my father's collection.

So I am reading the Hunger Games before I watch the movie. I am not done with the first book yet but I was realizing a few things.

1. The main character played by Jennifer Lawrence is naked in different parts of the book.

2. Jennifer Lawrence is hot

3. Jennifer Lawrence plays a 16 year old girl

4. Jennifer Lawrence is 23 now and was at least 21 when making the movie.


Is it wrong to have wanted those nude scenes included in the movie because it was JEnnifer Lawrence? I am so conflicted.

I too have not seen the movie, but was wanting those scenes to be in it.

Let me know when you are done with them and we can share some thoughts about the books.

I want to be around for that discussion. Mostly to see if anyone else hated the third book for the same reasons that I did.

Well now that the cat is out of the bag, I thought book 1 was great, book 2 was merely good and the 3rd started good but ...

As a series, I enjoyed the Hunger Games. But I agree with vlad's breakdown of the individual books.

It's OK. I think that I like most things when I read them once. The Hobbit really threw me for a loop when I read it before the movie came out. I liked it a whole lot less than when I read it 20 years ago.

It also cannot be as bad as Harry Potter. I read the first book and enjoyed it. The second book I just stopped because I was about 50 pages in and the author was still prattling on about what happened in the first book without giving and new insight or missed perspective.


Has anyone ever watched the show QI? It is frigging awesome. Since it is BBC there is some language we can't use. This episode has a nice segue with comics and British cartoons and it's some great fun...

All this talk about a book series for tweens has killed the thread. I hope you are all happy.
