It seems strange timing. They're announcing it around Christmas, and then releasing it in June. Why not in October?

It is a glass hammer, but I swatted a Firespray on turn 2 last night. With PTL I managed a TL and Focus on the two 5 attack dice ships and with Old Teroch I managed to roll 12 hits out of 15 possibles and he had no focus.

Also managed a 3 B and an Arc list pretty well also.

A swarm of TIEs and Palp Aces are things I am wary of.

So we're one-shotting now?


Is X-wing getting unbalanced?

No. It is a situation where you are within one of another ship with each of you in the other's firing arc. The protectorate ship gets 5 dice. Five hits can down a ship if they aren't any good at dodging. But it is hardly automatic.

No the ship is a bit squishy and subject to crits since it has no shields and is not exactly cheap.

So the answer is "yes, we're one shotting now."?

It's possible but not something you should/could bank on. I was pretty shocked when it happened!

There's a bit of "power creep" in X-Wing, but it's still far more balanced than is Star Trek: Attack Wing.

No ship in X-Wing can throw and modify 11 or 12 attack dice.

I've done it in ST:AW with a Barrage of Fire attack w/ Drex.

I've yet to find a situation where more than 5 dice were used in X-Wing (I do not play capital ships so I'm not sure if they can do it or not).

With Finn, you get to add a blank result to your roll.

With her ability, you can then re-roll up to to blanks.

It's not quite 6 attack dice, but it can produce 6 hits if you are lucky.

I've been flying a Rey/Poe 2 ship build for a few months - some home games, one tournament. In the tournament, went 3-0 and won it. One "mirror match", but he didn't have Finn/Kanan Jarrus, who are "fun" to have on her ship, because ... you can use the title, flip around, and then because it was a white maneuver, remove the stress from yourself.

I am ashamed at myself for letting an awesome opportunity to troll someone in real life just fly right past me today.

I've trolled this particular HR girl in the past. For example, when she came around to distribute some changes to the "Accidental Death and Dismemberment" policy I rules lawyered her.

"Excuse me, but I'm not exactly clear on how this adjective is being used as there is no other context in the description. Is it being used to modify 'Death' only or the entire 'Death and Dismemberment' phrase?"
"Huh?"
"I mean is this policy covering only accidental deaths but all dismemberments, both accidental and willful? Or is covering accidental deaths and accidental dismemberments?"

The look on her face as she was trying to work out if I was serious or not was priceless.

Anyway, I was at MrPopo's (HCR user) desk today going over some changes and we both noticed an abrupt change to the radio. We finished our discussion and decided we needed to go upstairs and get info from the users. When we got there the HR girls were talking to them already. They turned and asked if we were coming up to complain about the radio, too. A short, amicable discussion followed, then we got back to business.

On the way back down we ran into one of the HR girls again (the dismemberment one) and the conversation about the radio was restarted. I mentioned how I'd enjoyed last month when it was on WDVE. She informed me that would probably not happen again.
"Why not?"
"Well, I don't think it'll be back after 'the incident.'"
"What incident?"
"You didn't hear about the incident?!?!?"
"Come on. We're out of the loop down here. Do tell."
"Well, we changed it after the 45 minute discussion on dildos."

You can imagine where the conversation went from there.

Where it didn't go is where hindsight tells me it should have gone.

The perfect response definitely would have been: "What's a dildo?"

And it slipped right through my fingers.
