Yeah, thats the main reason im not in the ban EomE camp. The Avengers example is a great illustration. I liked playing Avengers but it became obviously underpowered. Enemy allowed me to add in Scarlet Witches, Kangs, Sabretooths etc. to answer almost any problem. Concurrently, it also addressed the tutor problem Avengers always had. It easily made that deck 100% better and allowed me to still occasionally play a mostly Avengers deck, which I wanted to do, and still be competitive.
Having said that, Im not going to cry if its banned.
Isn't it especially awesome when your powered up Avengers gets beat by Frankie.Valeria/Nega.hack.web?
My only 2 cents on this is I dont care about the money, I care about the the tournement scene and the game itself. So bring back the PCQ and PC points just dont give the money anymore and for the pc cut the money and give product for both, the only ppl that cared about the money were the ppl who only play this game for the money, these are the same ppl who have 20 or more points and do everything they can to get any money they can even if they have to do a 2-4-6 and even an 8 way split just to get a little cash or the only other ppl that go and care about the money are semi pro- and pro who need the points for the next pc, But other than that no one else goes for the money 80% go to prove that they are better, weither it be better deck builder, player, or net decker just for bragging rights and you also get the handful of casual players comics fans, collecters, and general card players who like to have fun, you also get the 2 ppl who go and ##### themselves to get ea's and rares and cheat in prereleases just so they can sell the stuff on ebay or outside the store to make a buck. So for the ppl who are in this game for the money please go to another game cause most of you dont spend a dime on this game anyway so it wont matter since the casual player spends the most on it. But as for the rest of us give us our tournment back and forget the money, we were happy with product we just wanted a hobby to have fun anyone else has a complex. I love this game and I don't to see it die.
Then I have a suggestion, stop trying to battle it. I can't count how many times I've seen this scenario play out:
somedude: ZOMG VS is dead! UDE sucks and my dog died last night!
stubarnes: please spare use the theatrics, VS is alive and well.
somedude: No seriously, no one around here plays! Enemy of my Enemy is borken and costs way too much. F### this stupid game and f### UDE!
stubarnes: fine, then get the f### out of our forums. We love UDE and everything is peachy. Oh by the way, unicorns!
Now I really don't care what you do with your time, you can continue to yell over and over again how everything is great, and everyone who doesn't think so should shut up. Fine by me. But I really don't think it's helping all that much. You're not changing their mind, and I doubt you're having much of an effect on people who pop in to see what this game is all about by arguing like that (In the end, I think that's what you are trying to do).
I think you would better served to just ignore the nay-sayers and go back to arguing about unicorns, the circumference of Dave Spear's bald head, and if Spiderman could score a date with Lois Lane. Both conversations can be entertaining, but I think the later does more for the game. If you ignore them, I have a feeling most of them will eventually just go away.
While I do agree in a certain sense that some naysayers should be ignored, there are obviously some that should be confronted because from what I can tell they have been a bigger part of the community and, as such, their nay saying can carry more critical weight that may bother others or the "saving Vs agenda".
And I will say very openly that the likes of stubarnes is why I started posting at all right in the middle of this "crisis" *insert creepy Lex Luthor picture here*
So yeah we should be more positive. We should bring back the happy times and such but I think the undercurrent here isn't "everything is happy yippe yay!" the undercurrent of a fair number of us is "hey look things are still pretty good and they could be better if we are...positive...maybe... a little?" Or a lot if your abilities and emotional constitution are up for it.

I agree with you a 100%
Doing a 4 way or even an 8-way split to get money is just sad, just get a job at this point lol If you were to do a 4-way or 8-way split you cannot brag that you won it

I agree with the guy you quoted cause all stu says is "your a moron this game is awesome, the sky is not falling" with his ego and pride of this game he is not helping anyone or anything, he should just stay quiet. He needs to open his eyes and see this game is not strong at the moment nor does it have a huge fan base in certain areas. He is only speaking so highly of vs cause he happens to live in one of the best Vs places. I read the stuff he wrote before and all he can do is tell people is "the game is not dying" and I expected more from him, I mean if he was my lawyer and I killed someone what is his defense? My client didn't kill him and pretty much ignore everyone elses opinions. I be honest it would have help if he was a good player that can back up his words, but the fact that people had to donate money for him to attend a pc kind of makes me think he doesn't know to much about VS and his deck choices kind of make me think he is a horrible player. I honestly think he is a noob and does not have anything to back up his voice. I can only imagine how many people he pushed away from this game by being so bias. Stu should stop acting like this game has no problems and actually help or confront them instead of causing more problems. Is he a coward? Stu should stop being a dick to people, this is a site that helps not to start trouble.
Its hard to see the forest for the trees, and untill I listened to Fallout Shelter I couldn't see it either. I'm a box buyer, like I expect many of us are. I buy product by the box. I hear folks around here say they are casual players. I hate to tell you but the fact that you made it this far, and if you're posting even farther into the game places you above the "casual masses" that are in true contention.
Truly casual players buy product by the pack, and this is what I couldn't see. It saddens me the truth this brings to light for me. If I have an X-men deck I started building from a starter by buying packs, and then I buy a few marvel knights packs, some green lantern packs, some JLA, whatever most of the cards I buy do nothing for me, and I don't have enough of them to build another vialbe deck. So X-men set hits Yeah and most of the cards / characters don't interact well with my old X-men, I'd buy a few more packs, but what's the point. Millions of these folks exist and they are the foundation of a casual player base. Us box buyers can never take their place.
I'd like to thank the guys at FOS for helping me see things in a clearer light. If the rest of us can sustain it, I'll be here. I love this game, and will continue to regardless of how things shake out. Perhaps there are enough of us, and with a few tweaks we could bring those 2-3 packs per set buyers back into the game, and the elite of the elite, the truly best card players in the world, will be able to sustain the level of competition that I believe has so endeared this game to us all.
I can't believe I went through most of these 63 pages.
I personally don't have too much of a problem with the changes. I have less of a sense of an "impending implosion" with this game. A few points:
Hobby League: I almost want to scrap the name of Hobby League. For stores, the name might be attached to a feeling of "a failed experiment". I understand keeping the brand, in that there might be a familiarity for some, but overall I like the idea of improving the intention of it.
Release Celebrations: I really like the idea. The many subtle implications of it can really help the growth of the game. I really hope it works.
$50K's: I think too many people read that to mean NO $50K's. not as, none until June while we reassess. It seems to be a tough pill to swallow for a bunch of vocal people, but I will remain optimistic that UDE can revisit this in the future.
PC payouts: again another pill, but if you want something to get better, you gots to take it short term. Realistically, affects less than half of the VS audience, and I'm being generous with "half".
"We’re moving to a new model for Pro Circuit invites that is friendly to all players and rewards player loyalty. ...This will allow more players to qualify and attend the Pro Circuit. ...new ways for players to qualify or increase their rating for upcoming tournaments." I think this has been summarily skipped over for the bomb that came after it. Yes, I agree cutting PCQ's outright places despair in the hearts of a lot of people, and I might not have done it without naming its replacement, but I try to remain optimistic.
Everything else mentioned: sounds good but it ended up as effective as a pat on the head for the already enraged bull who's only seeing red.
What I would've liked to see, and I've been dying for for years, would be a statement that there is an effort to effectively market this game to those who don't know about it. Not necessarily a higher budget, but an effort to basically advertise better and smarter. Otherwise, all these efforts are towards an already aware market, that may or may not have set opinions on the game.
Otherwise, I generally like the changes, I hope they haven't come too late.
What about us TO/Judges that run there local stores Hobby League and City Championships How do we get our ratings up since we cant play in them?
You don't. Simple answer but the truth, the only way for you to do that now is to drop the TO spot or not judge. Many of us are looking at that as well.

From my post on the last page, perhaps a judges exemption.

Are you kidding me? Who the hell has ever done an 8-way split. Splits are rarely about money. Usually its someone compromising, and money is just the appearing deciding factor. In the only pcq i ever did a split, i was already in finals and decided to actually be nice and split with the ongoing top 4 match to help out a guy who had 7 points(rob naval i believe).
I find it compelling that the people who are commenting on pcq's meaning nothing are mainly the people who couldn't do well in them. Of course money meant nothing to you, you came to grips with the fact that it was unattainable a long time ago...
Just like your life? Get a new hobby, i admit i have not been to many pcqs, but i actually have a life outside of VS unlike you, go do something with yourself, so much good talent was wasted on you.
But with your previous rediculous stu-like post count you will not be fooling anyone into thinking that you actually have a life. As always, you lose credibility and footing when it comes down to the nitty gritty and resort to something as stupid as "get a life". Last time this happened i posted your ude number with your shiny little 1 pc point and they removed my post and you made this new name losing that crappy personality by the wayside. Talent was wasted on me? I'm not the person with a wife and a son who idles realms 24/7. I'm the one on a career path (network engineering) with sensibility and intelligence on my side, beat that.
Let's see:
Full-time Job: Check
Fiance: Check
Aspirations other than a city-hall wedding and minimum wage job...:check!
Me: 1
Eternaldarkness(and any other personality he may assume): 0
I don't get why you would be against splits. I mean, a group of people work out a deal so that everyone left in the tournament benefits. Why would anyone outside that group give a crap?
