Generally yes, they are quieter, faster and more reliable. Also, not as much difference in price as a decade ago, but if it is a lot of data the difference can be significant.

There are relatively cheap commercial backups available like the MyBook and stuff too, some even offer a cloud copy of the Data. Microsoft O365 offers free online storage with its subscription as well as places like Amazon and Google, but you have to be careful as sometimes they scan for unlicensed media. Read the terms...

Heard a commotion in the hallway today and got to witness the biggest meltdown/blowout of a young man I have seen in a public school. Nobody got hurt, but man, this kid was angry and upset and had zero ability to settle down. Sad to see. He's been one of about half a dozen new students who are very poorly behaved and rude, but this was beyond that. It was sad to witness. Needless to say, he is in deep #### for destruction of property, leaving the school grounds, and multiple other actions. We brought him back to Principal's office, where he still was 45 minutes later when I left work.

Kinda ruined an otherwise stellar day.

Also as an IT guy, do what you want. I'm gonna get paid either way.

Mute, Wildberry Blast was the first ever Pro Slam League Undisputed Champion. He held the title until it was awarded to CM Punk. Punk was stripped of the title by the committee. The PSL is in the process of determining a new champ. White Meat is now a contender.

Ok, I watched more of the videos, and now I think I understand. I'm not sure that I want to understand, but fate has decided otherwise.

Realizing today, after seeing the idiocy shared via Facebook, that I really do miss Myspace. That was pretty darn fun social media for years before it got corrupted so badly and everyone kinda jumped ship.

I'm going to a crazy bachelor party tonight where we will start at a nacho restaurant, and end up at the Nerd bar for bowling.

That actually sounds kinda cool, given my dearth of socializing in my old man life, and the responsibilities of me. If that nerd bar for bowling had a decent juke box and some good buffalo wings, bring it on.

I've done all the crazy traditional type ones, up through couple events, and some sporting event ones, but none that were unabashedly lame and nerdy. I'd be totally cool with that.

Man, MySpace was something else. It really was a way to show yourself to the world, and if you weren't careful or didn't care, you'd probably shut down someone's computer from trying to load all of the BS we could load on there. I don't remember the exact day, but I started realizing one day g that everyone was migrating to Facebook, and I couldn't understand why, but I still wanted to talk to my friends.

To this day, I still don't know what was so cool about Facebook, and it just gets worse and worse (though that may be because I'm now an adult and realizing that a lot of my friends and family should never be given a platform).
