Man of Steel was average. Go see it, but don't expect a classic.

It was like the producers had a focus group and asked :"why is Superman lame?" Then removed everything they said.

In the sequel Superman should team up with Batman so Superman learns to lighten up.

There is one scene where absoulutely everyone in the theatre gasps.

I'm guessing strongman underpants was one of the first suggestions.

I really liked Man of Steel and was on the edge of my seat with the last half hour or so.

Everything.

I need to be in on this thread. Literally have seen a different movie almost every night for the past three weeks in a massive DVD binge!

So, besides Man of Steel, here are the last few films I've viewed:

Australia. Totally not the period romance I was expecting. The certain elements got on my nerves (did we really need the down-under versions of the Magical Negro and Dances With Wolves tropes?) but for at least the first half of the movie, it was delightful entertainment. 3 of 5 stars.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I saw this in the theater with friends in 1989, I think. I couldn't remember a single image, probably from being buzzed on wine coolers. It still almost put me to sleep 24 years later. Interesting fact: I cannot get the melody to "Time Warp" out of my head once it's there, but if I actively try to recall the melody to "Time Warp" — especially the hook — I can't, even though it's far and away my favorite song of the film. 2 of 5 stars.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Had passed on these Apatow productions the first time around, but they're not half-bad. Holy crap, Kristen Bell is a cutie. Waiting for the Veronica Mars movie...now, please. 3.5 of 5 stars.

Man of Steel. Loved it.

Anyone seen both Superman and After Earth? I've only got time to watch one and was wondering which. I am leaning on After Earth though.

I have not seen either but based on reviews that I have seen After Earth is really bad so I would go with Man of Steel.

If M Night doesn't scare you off from After Earth, I'm not sure what else to say.

Saw Man of Steel, thought it was amazing.

Really enjoyed Man of Steel.

Only issue for me was the end, but what can you do.

MAN OF STEEL was visually stunning,as one should expect from Snyder.
Without spoiling anything,I think this gave us a Superman more in line with the modern world...

Watching Contagion on HBO right now (preview weekend) and... wow, it's dry as toast. It just seems, well, very bland. Which is a shame considering how much star power it packs in.

Man of Steel. Go see it.
