On a side note I'm trying to fill a huge empty Cheese Balls container with Doombots and so far I have 7 or 8. This is going to be a long journey.
If you're gonna fill a cheese ball container, I think you should fill it with more appropriate things like Nightcrawlers, ProfessorX's, Cosmic Spidey's & Metrons (perhaps 4x6 based colossals). But that's me!
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.

I thought you were going to say Destiny from IC.
The universe will break. Shut the engines down. Everyone you love dies. Fight to save everything.
So has anybody here been involved with this Supremacy League thing? The guys at my venue are thinking about possibly starting one up and I'm really on the fence about whether or not I want to participate. I've not been extremely thrilled about playing in the tournaments lately as there seems to be a pervading mindset of "WIN WIN WIN, GET THE PRIZE GET TEH PRIZE!!!1!" and it's starting to suck the fun out of the game (lots of new players that seem to think Lord Mar-Vell/insert high-point figure + Infinity Gauntlet is just the coolest thing to play! Every week. ).
The players are going to have to pitch in to help offset the cost of the board etc. and I just don't want to sink the $$$ into it if it's going to be the same experience I'm getting during the tournaments.
Thoughts, opinions, experiences...?
I didn't go to Harvard or Yale but I can kick a man in the crotch as well as any other.
Totally not worth it. We have one guy who has been doing that sort of thing and making it no fun for everyone else :-/. Hell, the prizes for IG hadn't shown up yet and the kid wanted to leave as soon as he heard that as he was saying what's the point of playing if there aren't any prizes. I was like wtf? Is that the only reason you play is for prizes? :s.

I've had the same thoughts. Our core players chipped in and bought the board. I would like to set it up similar to the IG events, where it's a difference scenario week after week, I just haven't had time to flesh out the ideas.

We have a couple players that get all coked out on the latest cheese and thus we decided to do it all strictly sealed.
We are moving slow doing it, but a sealed event decides it. The board is cool, but totally not worth the hassle of fighting the latest hotness every time you come out to play.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I guess if the others really want me in on this, they're gonna have to convince me.

The first SL round where I play was 300 modern age, so I passed.
Apparently once the first figure is won, they'll start a new round which will allegedly be:
400 pts,
Pre card figures only,
no feats,
no special objects,
no LAMP.
this sounds interesting so I'm thinking of playing.
but yeah, in general, Supremacy League sounds like a bunch of annoying "meta" crap.

I've said it before: Supremacy League has been the worst thing to hit my venue in a long time, which is why I shut down the league. I'm looking at ways to restart the league while addressing some of the problems that arose from the previous incarnation.
The players at my venue want those con exclusives and several have apparently lost their minds and manners trying to win them. It's ####ing ridiculous. Some of them like to lurk on this thread like butt-hurt cowards so I know they'll see this.
Quite honestly, some of my players need to grow the #### up and see the damage they've done to work I've put in trying to grow the local Clix community.
