One thing I was thinking was to be able to do a sealed draft once a month. Essentially, the first event you buy two boosters and build a 300 point team. You make a note of what was pulled. Next month you buy 1 booster and add those figures to your pool, making a 400 point team, and so on. You could do 6 months of events, spanning across two sets.

Might be kind of cool.

That sounds like a cool idea in general.

So here's my work story for the day. To protect the innocent, I'm labeling folks. For my division, there are three managers. Boss A, the big boss who ultimately is in charge. Boss B, who runs day to day operations of the company and me, Boss C, who handles the special clients, trains the new hires and helps the veteran staff with difficult problems. Then there is the HR guy who I will name, Stupid, for the purpose of this story. Stupid doesn't report to Boss A, Boss B or me. Stupid reports to corporate. Boss A > Boss B > Boss C.

So we have a position open. Normally a candidate interviews with the three bosses. So Stupid sets up an interview and I tell Stupid that I know the candidate, she's not qualified and not respected by the companies we deal with. Stupid says he still wants to interview this candidate who will be labeled Crazy for the rest of the story. I tell Boss B my position and Boss B cancels the interview.

While I am out sick, Boss A decides we should interview Crazy. Boss A & B interview said candidate while I am out sick and hire her.

So now today I am training Crazy since training is my responsibility. I go over a couple of company guidelines and Crazy says to me today. "Look, I'm not trying to impress anyone here, I just need to work my eight hours and go home."

I'm giving up on humanity.
