Probably just keep trying. If it was meant to be then it will happen. It's nice to always have goals to keep you going in life because without goals things tend to get boring and dull.
See Hoff? We're only trying to help you retain your goals! We're friends!
Against my better judgment I also got into that thread. Honestly, this game is already narrowly focused on the uber competitive crowd. It shows no interest in the crowd I learned the game from, all of whom are gone.
Not sure how glamorizing the douchebaggery of the "top-tier metagame" is going to expand anything except egos. Do we want to run everybody else out of the game?
Yeah, watching top-tier Heroclix is just not really interesting right now. It's hard to place the blame on the players, since they're just playing what's available. I say we go for the source.
I would totally watch a video of a game of 300 (or preferably more) points of JLA vs. Legion of Doom, with characters who actually attack and move and cause rolling of dice, and all those crazy things that don't matter much anymore!
Is that what the championship game was? Just turtling? Where did all the fun go to? When I started it was comic fans playing a game that was competitive and fun. Now it seems to be mostly competitive and that seems to be the focus with Roc and con in your store then there's the wizkids sanctioned tournaments I'm not sure what it's called but it just seems like they're making it more like magic.
The positive note with clix vs Mage Knight is that the game is still selling well and they're still making figures. With that in mind, you can ignore all of their gimmicks and relics and utility belts and infinity gems and lantern rings...and just play the regular game with friends - and you'll still have a fresh supply of figures.

Pretty much this. You only have as much fun as you want to. Me, I play swarm teams as much as possible, just to try and take down the other guy's big tentpole. It goes about as well as in the comics, but it's still fun just to try, and see the look on their faces when it finally does happen.
