You already don't get RP. Is there really that big of an advantage with the extra stats?
Have we had a team win the Championship multiple times in a row?
I'm not against dropping stats in the play-offs, I just wasn't sure if it had that big of an effect from season to season. I always thought the big advantage was the larger roster combined with the ability to recruit better in the following season.

Hi guys!

HCFL 2018 - United Atlantis
I should be able to stick around for the season (But I'll be super rusty - here's hoping the new rules will be kinder for returning players). Not sure what teams I'll try, but maybe some DC themed.
"You're not alone, you know. What you were, and what you are to become, will always be with you."
I can only speak for me, but I use more than those feats, but it can be frustrating to face some of those. My experience the last few seasons is that feats are more rare.

I've toyed around with the idea of drafting the team feats, then treating them as unique, in that once those feats are selected, no other team or figure can obtain them through upgrade.

I will say that if we get rid of feats, we should think about taking the reins off of Objects and Resources and Possessors. Requiring theme for resources, and complete unrestricting objects and possessors. Then I would have no problem dropping feats.
We allow possessors now, right? We just have to draft them at full points. Or are you suggesting allowing them to be taken at 25 points for thematic teams?
With the abundance of low point figures and considering it's been 8 years since the last one was issued, I think it is time to do away with Feats.
There's a new rules set, and WK doesn't support them anymore. For the most part, there are plenty of other upgrade options.
WK is moving to a streamlined, simpler game, and we should too.
I would not be in favor of that. Feats give chracters without many versions something to do with their xp that they don't really have otherwise.
As to a "streamlined, simpler game," I strongly disagree. WK keeps saying they're streamlining things, and then coming up with some slightly different new things that complicates the game in different ways. Resources, vehicles, id cards, equipment, "title characters" (Although I can't really say WK "came up" with that last one, since they pretty much just stole it from MTG.)

I didn't use any of those, but I did take a bunch of other feats this season--alias, lucky break, stunning blow, maneuver, vault, armor piercing, inside information.

Yep that's exactly what I'm suggesting.
One of the reasons those elements are so hated is that they are difficult to prepare for. Sometimes you can make a great team to deal with the possessor, but it won't do well against teams that don't have the possessor. In our league you know who you are going to be facing. You know what elements they have available. You change your team before you play another. I don't think it will be any more lopsided than having to deal with an all Mystics team. Or an all stealth team. Or any other strategy we have here.
Yes, we have limited figure availability, and that just sucks sometimes. Some teams just can't handle certain other builds, and some teams steam roll other teams. Sometimes you pick a bad theme. I loved the Secret Warriors comics. We just got a bunch of them with the Captain America set, so I played them the next season. They were so slow. They had no carriers. I just got destroyed. Picked a more versatile team the next time.

I could get cozy with that. We have enough restrictions to prevent a "Despodara" team from being made, so we could make it work.
I agree with Vlad, as someone who's team consists of characters that don't have any where to go after they upgrade once or twice, Feats are the only thing I can spend XP on some times.
Bringing in Resources as a replacement would be terrible, I have enough trouble with them in real life games not to want to have to deal with them here.
Are we saying possessors for anyone or possessors just thematic? I still vote thematic only there.
Resources and IDs are bad for the game and hard to keep track of in play by post. With what we have going, they don't make much sense. I like adding vehicles though. Haven't used em much but don't see any big issues there

WK figures they are streamlining future modern age play, though not the game in general. "Equipment" and the new ID Card rules are great for the game going forward, but if you have "relics" and the old ID cards, the game is definitely not streamlined.
TopDog has mentioned several times how much he hates PC and TTPC especially. Would anybody be interested in or opposed to the idea of requiring TTPC to only be used on your own actions, or only with explicit instruction. No more case by case.

This already seems like an experimental season with these new rules coming into play. I'm ok with limiting ttpc. My one concern with completely removing it is that it can really help give some very terrible old figures a chance at some extra stats.
