My work, and most schools, have been canceled for the next month due to the Coronavirus. I live in Shanghai, which is the next major city next to the outbreak.
I'm pretty much not going outside.
The good news is now I have nothing to do but to run Hybridity games! Yay!
Signups are now open for XVIII. It's about a virus that has infected a city and is killing people.

It took the Corona virus to restart interest in the mafia. This truly is the end of days...
Lovely to see you again, my friends.

My kids have a day off from school and have been watching a show on Disney+ called Jessie. I guess they discovered it because it has the same kids from another show they watched called Bunk'd. Anyway, I heard some screaming and both of them came running up the stairs into my room. Out of breath, they both say "We're never going back down stairs again." "If another Halloween show comes up, we're skipping it."
Granted most of this is exaggeration but I found it funny. Apparently, the show did some sort of take on The Ring/Ringu for that episode. Considering how creeped out I was when I first saw the movie as an adult...I kinda empathize. It was still hilarious seeing them burst into the room and close the door as if they were actually in a horror movie though.
If you let them kill your dreams, it'll haunt you.

Hi yall, got an email from a thread I'm still subscribed too and it reminded me of y'all!
I hope everyone is doing good
I'm a girl now, on hormones 10 months
And I go by Fabby, she/her pronouns
I often think of y'all, I've gotten the chance to work on some table top games and running mafia games here was the first time I game designed ever and I think of those games fondly

Great to hear from you. We're playing mafia games again if you're interested.
I had to stop playing Mafia on HCRealms because coming up with fake powers and actions when I was mafia was too much complexity for my tiny brain. It is a game I greatly appreciate in theory, but struggle immensely with in practice.
A few months ago, I subscribed to the DCUniverse streaming service. It has some forums set up, and I have enjoyed chatting there. One poster started asking about interest in starting mafia games there and so few people seemed to know anything about them, that I felt obligated to chime in and help the thread-starter explain the elements of how the game has played. Once that thread had enough folks interested, the person ran the game, and despite my hesitance, I played. I didn't play very well, but that was not particularly surprising.
With so few people there having any familiarity with the game, I had to step up and be a pretty active talker to seed the day phases with at least potential info. I was also the first person to start announcing my intended votes during day phases. Pressure wasn't building itself. After those first couple of day phases, though, everyone seemed to more or less get the gist of it. The Town and I were defeated with very little blood drawn in the other direction. I was Alfred Pennyworth.
Anyway, I thought you guys might get a little kick out of knowing that some of the mafia knowledge I gathered (or at least attempted to) from so many of you guys here ended up helping some other folks learn elsewhere.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.
It's been unreal coming back. Hopefully this might spark some more new games.

Haha! I used to watch Jessie and Bunk’d with Kara and Shaunie. I have to say, I liked Bunk’d more because I wasn’t a fan of Debby Ryan.

What, am I normal or not?
Am I crazier than other patients?
Right, I've done everything right.
So where's the karma, doc? I've lost my patience.
So Florida Man says WWE is essential...I mean, I like wrestling, but at no point did I ever consider it an essential service.
It's a strange thing. I totally understand that we need what we can get to help deal with the situation we're in, but it feels like the production needed to put on those shows is a little heavy. I hope they just record a hunch of stuff all at once to keep things going while not bringing tons of people out into the public more than news be.

My best friend loves wrestling. He's been getting his fill from watching old matches on streaming services (he's been watching a lot of old WCW stuff lately; most recently finishing up Halloween Havoc from 1990, I believe).
I would hope that WWE would just do some quick edits of greatest matches throughout the years and focus on those. Why bring in people to run the risk of COVID when you have, what, over 4 decades of content?
For those not actually watching WWE - they are managing to keep things down production-wise. No audience, 1-2 commenators, 1-2 cameras.
A big part of why Vince has pushed for this is the contracts he signed with Fox guaranteeing x amount of live product per year with only y amount of taped shows. While one would think there would be some wiggle room for a situation like this, you know Vince McMahon isn't going to give up money if he can help it.
