Con Air was more believable and better than this. And that's about the biggest insult that I can level at a movie like this. I find difficult to believe that Con Air, The Rock, and Cliffhanger were made before this and they were better BAD films.
I seem to recall enjoying it as a dumb action movie, but never wanted to see it again. The Rock and Con Air, however, are dumb but so enjoyable I don't mind the dumb and I've rewatched them.

Wow. Bingo, Dude.
Well put.
Does anyone think I'm being unreasonable in not enjoying movies with false tropes like incorrect CPR, weapon use, portrayals of military action?
I miss Mythbusters, but I also think they ruined me to an extent.

As a tech guy from my early teens onward, I've learned to live with a significant amount of nonsense in my entertainment. It's gotten a lot better in the last 10-15 years though.
I hear dcotors, cops, and lawyers are particularly annoyed by how their professions are portrayed.
And anyone with a hint of understanding pf physics has to turn off their brain at a whole host of things. This particularly annoys me with superhero movies (which I mostly enjoy otherwise) that pretend to have any basis in science. My favorite two examples-- where does Hulk's mass come from, and where does it go? And why isn't Iron Man jelly inside that suit? (Not to mention the amazing amount of potential-energy in all those teeny missiles that all blow up like full-sized bazooka shells).
You can make up explanations for those things, but the ramifications of them would be a far bigger deal than the superheroes themselves.
So you aren't wrong to be bothered by those things, and you are hardly alone.
Mostly I can ignore these things if the movie has enough to it to keep me distracted. The Rock has some cool dynamics between hero, ally, and antagonists plus a what-if-James-Bond kinda take. Con Air is full of colorful performances. Air Force One? Has some tension (I think?) and one good one-liner. Yawn. Superhero movies, if they are good, aren't really about the specifics of powers and abilities. A movie like Hackers? Where the tech is the point? Painfully bad. WarGames? Where they tried to get it right but took liberties for cinematic reasons and the story is compelling? A classic.

Aw man, you got me monologuing...
Did I mention War Games?
I've never seen Hackers.
I recently saw Tremors in its entirety for the first time a month or so ago and was pleasantly surprised but I had to overlook a LOT. That movie seemed to ask me nicely to do so with some charm. Air Force One did not.
I mentioned War Games to contrast with Hackers as examples of tech in movies. They're probably the two best known movies that prominently feature computer tech up to that point in time.
I've never revisited Hackers (hated it on first watch) but I showed the kids War Games and it's holds up. The first Mission Impossible movie also has a lot of tech and the movie is decent but the tech is obnoxiously bad. And what's funny about it is that at time it might have seemed OK to the average moviegoer, but now everyone would cringe.

That's just so freaky. We recently watched War Games on a whim and I didn't know if I mentioned it here. My main issue with it was how refreshing it was to see the 80s presented naturally.
It wasn't like Stranger Things showing a version of the 80s that was based on retrospect. I spend too much of my time while watching it being annoyed by inaccuracies.
It also wasn't like a John Hughes film, made IN the 80s, but presenting a fantasy version of the 80s.
Can anyone think of any other movies like War Games that are accurate reflections of what the 80s were actually like?
A quick look at the Wikipedia page tells me that was made in 2015 and there's a dinosaur and some guy who is either Hitler or Charlie Chaplin on the poster.
