I guess he felt like it was a step down after being Eddie Murphy's sidekick.

When our story opens, the Question is investigating an impossible locked-room murder mystery involving a midget and a 6'6"-tall call girl into heavy bondage. Don't worry, I'll explain later. It's all vitally relevant.

Next question: When Swamp Thing's mind possessed the body of John Constantine, he had a tattoo put on Constantine's body. What was the tattoo of, and where was it placed?
Two-parter: What one-shot DC villain was a parody of Star Brand? Why was it (somewhat) appropriate that he was subdued by the character who subdued him?

I've got a feeling Jim Shooter is involved in this question and not just because he created Star Brand.
That's what I was thinking, but I can not recall much of anything else. I think Byrne took a jab at Shooter with a character named "Sunburst" or some such. As for who subdued him, I could only guess, that, since Star Brand was originally a more or less rip-off of Green Lantern, that it'd have to be a GL who took him down.
I'm thinking I got the GL part wrong. The only other character I can think of is probably wrong, but, I'll go with "Mano" being the one to take him down, with Mano being another of Shooter's creations.
