The real question is... will their instruments fit in the car?
It's a barbershop quartet, so I hope so.

Was going to post this over in the Made Members Marvel Heroes Thread - more of you should join - to keep with the Loki / Wilson / Hiddleston gab we've got going back and forth but decided this might perk up a few people's day on here... (okay, it made me laugh but maybe finding amusement in Loki being cruel to children is an issue I should explore).
Aaaaand Halloween Monster Mafia is open once again!!!

Something very strange is going on here in the office today. We’re being called in for one-on-one 10-minute meetings with our boss this morning. It could be that many people get cut - or at least one of my co-workers seems to think that this is the case. I have the notion that I could be one of them...

I wish you luck, man. I've been through it before and likely will again. All you can do is hope.
As an aside, things are a little strange for me as well here at work today. Yesterday, my old boss, from another site within our company sought me out here. Turns out he was on site and wanted to coerce me into taking a full time gig with the company over at his branch. That'd mean giving up my crew of 10 direct reports, but would mean a lateral move in terms of ladder rungs. The good thing is that it'd include the benefits I've been lacking for years. You know, health coverage, 401K, bonus, etc. Sounds like he is pushing his boss pretty hard to really consider me. It could be a good move for my career, but the commute could be anywhere from 65-95 minutes each way. That could be the killer for me.

Interesting dilemma, Stan - but at least you are in demand and getting full bennies could make that sucky commute worthwhile. Like you said, you're giving up the 10 direct reports but are getting a FTE position that will eventually benefit your career and your family.
As for my situation, things have been getting bleaker and bleaker since the Government shutdown. My company's business is heavily dependent on the Feds being able to pay for stuff. Recently we have onboarded a new COO who is all about the cost savings, even if that means making up for revenue downfalls by cutting jobs. Funny thing is, after you let people go, how do you deliver on the tasks that you have to perform? All the same, when there is a panic and people are freaking out, rational thinking gets flung out the door. To be honest, I was already thinking of looking for a new job after the first of the New Year. This moves up my time table but it really sucks because it's gonna be right before the holidays.
Of course, instead of being fired we could be getting furloughed and I have plenty of PTO accrued. I could take the time off. Even if I get laid off, they're gonna have to pay me for my PTO regardless, so there is that. Best case scenario is that they will offer a severance package, but there is no guarantee of that, either. Oh well, guess I'll find out sooner rather than later...

Let us know when/if you find out what's going on. My thoughts are with you.
Hope things work out for you charles.
Don't know if I have mentioned this, but my boss is looking into offering me a permanent position here - the main obstacle right now is whether the union allows them to just offer me a job without public applications first. So that's quite nice for me.
