I one had a student at my old correctional school facility whose name was De MarQuavious. Yes, he was of urban and African - American background.

the name was a perfect melding of like 4 different stereotypical naming conventions for prisoner populations. It was kind of sad, really, and the guy was a total thug.

Kind of like CL and Bud with this posting harassment thing.

At my school where I teach students were able to pronounce De MarQuavious without batting an eye, but give them real language and they have a hard time.
