The "Multiversal" requirement means the old Iron Man/Black Widow/Hawkeye team isn't going to work.

I confirmed that 4* Doctor Octopus will remove Galactus' countdown tiles.

America Chavez seems strong in this event because it's really easy to get critical tiles out fast.

Of the eligible 5*, Wong is my only champ... so that might be my three for Heroic.

Standard, I may use America with the usua Thor/Polaris pair, but I'll experiment.

Final Analysis -
I finished Peggy while I was still waiting for Miles covers, but I wasn't going to stop until Miles was done. So Peggy got to about 452. With Peggy champed, I'm looking at another 8 weeks before I crack again. Shang-Chi got up to level 542, which makes me happy. His final level is in site.

I also tracked that with this cracking (including the heroic cracking to get me 13 covers for 3* Hunter) I was able to ascend Ragnarok, 2*Daken, and 1*Black Widow.
Now, technically, I would open Mighty tokens to help build The Hunter, but so far (and this has been true of my previous openings), I finish that toon before I get to Mighty tokens (I go top down).

So.... once all of the toons are ascendable, I'll probably crack it then. I don't want to get to a point where I have to consider rostering a 3rd copy of a 3* because it's ascendability hasn't been released yet.

How did you get 7 covers in shards for Miles and PEggy? That seems higher than usual

The feeder for Peggy was 4*Peggy; the feeder for Miles was 4*Miles. I have both of those toons maxed with a crop of each. So a max champ gets you 1 cover and 2500 in retro rewards. My second Miles is at 280, so that's an additional cover.

I'm not sure how many times each has been in PVE rewards, but I am regularly a T50 finisher, sometimes T100. (And for the Strange Sights that just launched for the new Hunter character, I'm looking at a T5 finish, if my alarms get me up on time)

So, I've been facing a lot of 5* Polaris in PVP so it got me motivated to just go ahead an Ascend her. No big deal, right?

Well, playing Deadpool daily today, my go-to team for the "Golden Disc" node is Polaris, 4*Juggie, and 4*Rocket/Groot because it can mop it all up in 3-4 matches. But today..... Polaris couldn't be included, since she's a 5-star. Sad, but I figured out a new 4* team to use.

Then I went to play the new subnode and I use that team to also mop through the 3 easy nodes. But today.... Polaris was tanking all the colors but red - and that team works by having Juggie tanking and one-shotting the opposing team.

The solution? I ascended Juggie so now he tanks. ANd I am again one-shotting the easy nodes.

But then I peeked at the strike tile total and Juggie's damage and I realized .... this team is now a potential consideration for all of the non-essential nodes. Indeed, this team cleared through all 6 of those nodes in less than 4 matches per node. So I've got a new favorite team for general play. Will likely take it to the SHIELD Simulator next season, at least for the early climb.

Hunter and X-23 are set up to make my next 2 crackings to o very simply. I champed Goose and made him 4/4/5, but I'm open to feedback

Looking at the Good Fortune store... I definitely understand BRB, and I get that Apocalypse is a thumper, but I haven't figured out Okoye yet.

Her gimmick is obvious: Rack up Team-Up AP for bonus damage. But I've seen that you need her to outlevel her teammates to tank and avoid the drain. Plus, I don't get chasing Team-Up AP ou can't spend over stuff to actually fire off powers.

What am I missing?

Since this is based on the Good Fortune store... I currently have BRB champed at 455, Okoye with 8 covers and 1330 shards, Apocalypse unrostered and only 40 shards.

So, power-wise, it's also imporant to remember her yellow - it (a) generates team up tiles and (b) gives her true healing. So she has a mechanism by which being on the front line isn't the health-sink it may be for others.

Her bonus affects any damage generated by any power. Thus the standard new-toon analysis "pairs well with Okoye." And when she's boosted. Her boost gets boosted, too. It's devastating.

Your critique is accurate. If she isn't tanking then her TU supply is dwindling. Most of the time (for me) she tanks yellow and TU and that can be enough to make her effective.

And, instead of looking at your TU supply as "AP you can't spend", it's more like AP that activates passively (whenever a power fires).

Apocalypse is fun but can be kind of slow to get him going but when he hits he hits hard. For him getting yellow and black are the most important, red is good and cheap.

So my current dilemma is that I feel like I ought to spend some CP. I've reached 22,000 CP. That's 880 pulls.

1 - I could go in deep on the Good Fortune store. BRB, Apoc, and Okoye are all regular second-tier 5*s for me.

2 - I can go in even deeper with Classic tokens. I have over 1,000 pulls available there. Even if I wanted to leave 10K CP behind, that's still 600 pulls in the classic store.

3 - Save to save because why not save it until an better store comes along.

(Note - my Shang-Chi is at 547, which makes me feel that I'll want to pass on any store that comes along with him in it - which will likely be most fan faves that come up in the near future)

Thoughts?

I am just imagining what your roster is. I would just save to save. You are probably at a point where you are farming your 4*s and will be in the midst of ascending 4*s to 5*s.

Are you at a point where you are ready to ascend? or Do you need a little boost to get to the top? Then you are probably feeling the itch to make pulls, I would be too.

I am also sure that you are calculating the number of 4*s that are released in a year and finding the probability of pulling the 4*s you want now compared to X-time in the future.

Personally if I waited this long to save then I would rather wait to get a store that provides 10X odds at pulling certain 4*s to help with ascending them.
