Having taken a little time to kick around elements of the 52 announced DC series I've just about dismissed the initially interesting rumor that it may have been 62 series, each with a window on a different universe... but I'm still left with the thought that the refitting and relaunching that's being done doesn't find me anywhere near the bullseye of this target demographic.
The only custom dice I've gotten were some I bought off someone else here on the Realms -- a pair of dice with a nuclear symbol on them and another with the skull and crossbones. Each only had one outing so far, and they both happened to roll horribly for the people who used them.
I have some larger (about 4x the size of normal), clear, mostly single-colored (one's clear) dice in the assortment, though, which I must have picked up at a dollar store. Those have worked find, but they're more likely to knock things over.

I think I may give a few titles a try. I do it knowing if I end up liking it the likelihood they will revert back is fairly high.

I'm just picking up the same stuff I do right now. I'll pick up Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, Green Lantern: The New Guardians, and The Red Lanterns.
It's like Michael Jordan going to the YMCA to play basketball.

I tried to take a pic of all my different dice earlier and for some reason I couldn't upload it on the Realms. I've got about 44 different pairs of dice that I've collected. I've got more than that, but those are the ones I have in my gaming bag right now. These are a combination of dice from ChiRocker's first run, a small run someone else put together, the other various runs that ChiRocker has done for other dice, the Steveboi dice, and some dice that I've had made myself (Jerry Damage dice and University of Kentucky dice).

Here I am, stuck in my shop making signs and you guys go post crazy today. Most Saturdays are slow, but today I find myself trying to play catch up.
I just have a few more things to do here and then I am heading for home. I've already had a call from Isabelle requesting burgers on the grill for dinner, so I guess that is one less decision I'll have to make when I get home.
I think what it is with me and the dice is that despite being in this game since '02 I'm not a gamer. I never have been. Heroclix is something I got into as an adjunct to my comics collecting, and I no more thought about custom dice than I would have a custom pen or pencil for writing down the score or a character-themed calculator. I'd seen some specialty dice along the way, but it was generally more like a runic symbol for the 6 -- nothing overtly comics-themed -- so they had no impact on me. Had I seen the comics-themed ones earlier, though, I probably would have jumped on board. By the time I saw them here the legality issues had just caused them all to dry up, so those became a non-issue.

It's salmon burgers for us again tonight. I love my grill. I love the weekend too. Except the nagging I get from the wife. I guess something has to keep my weekends grounded.
