It looks like I would be the Syndicate's host for the crossover game, since I have played here before and the other two (Sloonei and MovingPictures07) would prefer to play if time permits.
Would any of you in particular like to serve as the heroclix host? The theme could be essentially anything, though I think something themed toward your common interests here would be ideal.
I'm definitely in to play, I would definitely prefer not to co-host but I will step up if I'm needed to get the game off the ground. There are many better mods than me around here though.
Guys like Stan and MSU come to mind as good co-mod/host candidates, but they have not played in so long I do not even know if they would be interested. Magnito and Quebs would be other strong candidates. Carlos would be great but the other mod would have a hard time communicating in Mucha-bonics.
I gonna pester Darq & Truffles to play on FB as soon as the sign up game goes up. What site would host?
I would suggest HCRealms hosts only because I think the syndicate regulars are more active and hosting here will make it easier for those more casual on here to participate, which will make balancing the #s out easier.

I too want to express some excitement about the prospect of this game. I had a great time playing in cbob's Christmas game with a lot of you, and the game we just played on the Syndicate with JOH (sorry I shot you), Silver Lantern, and Fredwood was tremendous. Our communities feature different playstyles, but that's a prime reason to have a crossover game. It makes for a fun, fresh, and occasionally chaotic environment. Everyone will love it.
I co-hosted the crossover game between RYM and the Syndicate (with MP) when our communities first came together and it was a ton of fun. It was great to get an inside look at how things were done in a new place, and MP and I had fun bouncing ideas and chatter off each other behind the scenes. Anyone who wants to play absolutely should, but co-hosting can be every bit as good as playing. Plus you get to be sucked up into the Mafia Vortex of JJJ, what could be better than that?

The intent is to host the game at The Syndicate, primarily because we've found and opened a time slot in our game schedule for this purpose (while our job-category games go on a brief hiatus). One thing I had not considered previously though is a sort of home-and-away arrangement like major college football programs are known to do -- one game at each location. That's something to ponder...
When it comes to the activity level, I do think there are a couple of things that would make this game a bit less likely to blow up quite like Phenon did:
1. There will be fewer players in all (I anticipate/hope for around 18-20), and if half of them are HCR folks playing at an HCR pace, the full pace of the game is likely to reflect that more.
2. I'm not playing. That might sound silly, but it really matters -- games I play in tend to blow up just because I deliberately cause them to blow up.
A few other reassurances:
~ This is meant to be a friendly game, not something hyper-competitive or hostile. We've already played with you folks in both locations and had fun with it. Something we try to do is build relationships with other good Mafia communities because we feel it is mutually enriching.
~ Whoever it is that hosts alongside me: no pressure at all. I bring a lot of knowledge of a lot of types of setups, and I am very open to hearing your ideas and preferences. I want the game to reflect HCR's character as much as it can.

Well said, Jay!
I think the goal of 18-20 players too would be an ideal number for players in both communities, especially since it's not intended to be very intense.
I'll definitely be playing, but it'll be at a much more relaxed posting pace than I'm notorious for, just due to schedule limitations.
And I think the home/away concept is a good plan. If this is successful, I'd love to bring as many folks as I can over to HCR so we can run games here too.
We were hoping to roughly double that plus get a mod. (I'd be willing to mod.)
I'd bet that Adam, Nifty, Roy and Tony might be down. Maybe Kontrol, Ignatz and Grizzz. Past that, you run into people that have been having trouble with the higher level of scumhunting games (Af, Quebbs due to time zones, DB) that might not enjoy the crossover as much and players that are stated to be busy irl (GFish, Raven, Darkstone, Rokk, Girathon).
I still have contact info for Chas, Ice, MSU, Truffle, Darq and Stan. Might reach out, though I tend to assume and respect that people who are gone are gone for a reason.

Yeah, considering how things Went for me in Superior Foes I don't Think I'll be playing in this. Not at this time at least. Maybe when I am in a bit of a better mood.

I'll look over at Syndicate this weekend, but I'll probably be available. Don't want to commit just yet.

President Hillary Clinton declared on day three that to make things fair for the little guys, votes from players with less posts now count proportionally more.

Well, I guess this means I'll need to create a bit over there or something.

It'd be awesome to have any of y'all, and I understand that it's not for everyone and time doesn't always permit.
If you're down to mod, Jack, that sounds great to me. Just let me know if that's what you decide and we can work out the juicy details either here or there.
