So heard the new song from the upcoming Deep Purple album, and in a way it makes me sad. Is the song bad? No, it's not bad, but for me it lacks real creativity or spark. Recently we've seen new songs from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Guns and Roses, Judas Priest, even Pearl Jam and a couple of other "legacy" groups. I've liked a couple just fine, but really haven't found any worth adding to a playlist. I'm sure there are people thrilled to see them, but for me, I guess the new songs are an attempt at more of the same. Bottom line, I don't really object, but am not very excited by most of them.

PORTABLE DOOR (Deep Purple) - This is a nice enough song, actually surprisingly enjoyable, but not going in my lists.

Incubus is currently on an international tour. I forgot how much I enjoyed much of their music:

DRIVE (Incubus)

Michael Einziger of Incubus co-wrote the newest Band-Maid song "Bestie" with them since they met at a festival earlier. Band-Maid opened for Incubus in Tokyo a couple of days ago and Michael joined them on stage to perform the song. It definitely has an Incubus influence and it seems designed to reach a wider audience, a bit poppier than their other stuff. He isn't on this video though.

I’ll be completely open. I was very disappointed when it was closed, but for the sake of Rock Wars, which I truly am grateful for, didn’t want to “rock” the boat. It was fun learning new music, but it was also fun watching how popular it seemed to be with both contributors and lurkers. The number of views was very surprising and a bit exciting. Even though I know there are other open threads in Realms that have several thousand posts (at least one with over 3,000), I’m not the boss, so it’s not my place to complain.

Reopening it was actually an accident. You mentioned that you wanted to comment on the last post in the original bucket and I was trying to figure out a way to quote that in the new bucket. Remember that this is the first thread that I have ever started and I know next to nothing about how they work. I was surprised as anyone else when it was reopened.

My only comment is that interest in the topic seemed to collapse, almost like throwing a switch, after the change. I hope this thread will stay open, but if not I am not the boss. That is how it will have to be.
