Well I guess you could, I think non-upgraded characters are sold back for their point value though... which since TXP and IAP are doubled now would kinda be "Half cost". It costs double TXP to recruit a new character.
here's the selling rules
You can also “sell” a member of your team back into the queue at a rate contingent on their experience level, or the amount of IXP they’ve gained since they came on your team.
• If a character has been promoted one level or gained ten IXP since joining your team, you can sell them for an amount of TXP equal to their point value.
• If a character has leveled up twice, or gained twenty IXP since joining your team, you can sell them for TXP equal to %150 of the point value.
• If a character has been promoted three levels, or gained thirty IXP since joining your team, you can sell them for twice their entire point value.
(Thus, if Robin levels up to Experienced, the player whose team he is on can sell him for 20 TXP. If he is promoted to Veteran, he can be sold for 33 TXP. Since he can not level up further, he must gain ten IXP as a Veteran before he can be sold at full value of 44 points.)

OK, I'm still not understanding where the magic # "44" is coming from in my particular instance. Is this on the 1st RPSC page, something that was changed by RookieBats later on or something that's ust going into effect this arc?
I thought this stuff was going to get consolidated beore we got started - how can I make a team based on criteria that's spread out among posts?
I guess I'll just stick with these guys, then.
[48] R Black Adam (102)
[15] R Dr Fate (85)
[09] R Hawkgirl (27)
[11] R Hawkman (32)
[00] R Stargirl (40)
[18] R Starman (37)
Total= 323, so it looks like I've got 47 unused TXP to carry on to the next arc. I'm looking at a 22pt squad I can build here, right?
Very disappointing. Everybody gripes about H/S/S Black Adam & I've been waiting for this opporunity to drop him. However, 1) I'll be darned if I'm going to do so at a penalty & 2) once I upgrade him (or any character) I'm going to want to have some fun with the new figure. Why work towards upgrading him just to trade him away immediately? I only see this leading to more griping. If you think R Black Adam can be nasty, E Black Adam is a beast!
I don't have 65+ positive feedback (325+ on eBay) because I stink! My Trading Thread has non's, U's & LE's from CD, AW, Icons, FF, Legacy & more! My eBay Sales has new clix & sets listed every Sunday!

"To recruit a character, the team must pay TXP equal to twice the character’s point value."
under the Promoting and Recruiting section. You have 87 TXP so dividing that by two is 43. So you could recruit a character up to 43 points. So recruiting courney if you chose to would actually cost 80 TXP.
And yeah if you go that route you could build a squad of 225. Which I'm pretty sure would move you up to 3 moves a turn.

ah, now I understand. Missed the 2X points to recruit part.

Sorry, Ozy, but there's another problem I see. In your 3rd issue you only earned 2/5 TAP for the figure you captured, not the entire team you fought. It’s usually easier to apply the math to the individual figures rather than the entire team in these cases. Thus:
KO Captain Atom = 154x1/5 ~ 31 TAP
KO Judomaster = 40x1/5 = 8 TAP
KO Harlequin = 42x1/5 ~ 8 TAP
KO Thunderbolt = 51x1/5 ~ 10 TAP
Capture Nightshade = 110x2/5 = 44 TAP
Plus TAP earned through combat = 28 TAP
Total: 129 TAP
So your actual TXP/TAP after your first arc is: 75 TXP, 4 TAP
Your other totals come out alright, since there weren’t any captures in those games, but in the future it’s generally easier to calculate each figure on its own and add those together in order to make sure that everything comes out right.
This means you're just shy of getting Courtney. However, I’m ready to propose that you can always sell characters back for their point value, regardless of how many XP they’ve gained. It’s just easier to say that Rookie = 100% point value, Exp = 150% and Vet = 200%. So if you still wanted to do some trading, it could change things a good bit.
For instance, 177 TXP (if you traded in Black Adam) would be enough to recruit Hourman, Mr. Terrific, or Star-Spangled Kid. It may or may not be the situation you anticipated, but it isn't exactly hopeless, either. Also, if you look around, very few teams have been able to do much upgrading or expanding yet, and the only team to do so after their first arc (The Marvel Knights) started with a team that was far below their initial build points and consists mostly of >50 point characters.
Anyway, I'll post the wrap-up story for the JLA/JSA "Lost in Time" arc sometime later on.
Oops again! You're right, I just re-read that part. It seemed a little crazy! I'll recalculate this when I get home but I'll probably just swap Black Canary for Stargirl. I think I have enough TXP for that.

...Except that I believe Black Canary is already taken by the Gotham Knights. At this point it's still unfair to take Fut's team away from him so his figs are still off-limits. For now.
Of course if I'm wrong, then she's fair game. Just be expecting some attempted "Conjugal Visits" from a certain emerald-hued bowman
Actually, looking at it now since Black Adam has earned 20+ IXP, he's available to be sold for 150% of his cost under the old rules, which would give you 153 TXP for trading him in and you'd have 228 TXP total, which would be enough to recruit a couple people at a time:
Hourman & Star-Spangled Kid = 110 TXP
Mr. T & SSK = 196 TXP
Powergirl = 194 TXP; possibly a little pricey
Flash U = 202 TXP; also pricey, but it's Jay!
Hourman & Mr. Terrific = 246 TXP; you're really close on this one.
Just some food for thought is all. Until you commit to a final team, nothing is solid.
Alrighty, here's the conclusion of the big JLA/JSA Adventure through time and space! Warning: It's a bit lengthy, but I'm tying up a pretty big storyline, so work with me here
“Status report,” Hawkman barked as Black Adam slung Nightshade over his shoulder.
“Once captive,” the massive Egyptian said in a voice that seemed almost…bored?
“Four down!” called out Cosmic Boy, as Saturn Girl tended to the barely-conscious Lightning Lad with all the concern and care of a lover. It was strange to Hawkman to see two so young acting so...familiar with each other, but he knew well enough not to question the cultures of others – particularly teenagers from the far future.
Instead, he flew to where Hawkgirl lay and lifted her head gently. “Kendra? Are you well?”
She coughed lightly and shook her head. “I haven’t been hit this hard this often in some time.”
”Perhaps you should consider your chosen vocation more carefully,” Adam said as he looked down at the two Hawks, his feet never touching the ground.
“Perhaps you should consider your words more carefully, Adam,” Hawkman said. “There are plenty who question your loyalties, and such comments only fuel the fires of doubt.”
“I was merely stating a fact, Carter Hall. It may be that you mistook my words.”
“Hey cats and kittens,” came the weak voice of Jack Knight. “Little help?” The blast from Captain Atom had buried him beneath some rubble, and only the tip of his cosmic rod and his waving hand stuck out from the pile.
“Not a problem, Starman,” Cosmic Boy said, using his magnetism to easily lift the ferrous material off of the weary hero. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, fine. The rod took most of the blast, but the debris pinned me down.” The weakened JSA collected themselves as the Legionnaires looked after their own, but the moment was ended when a green streak flew through the sky and landed in the clearing.
“Hawkman, there’s been trouble,” Green Lantern said with a solemn voice. “It’s Wonder Woman. She’s…she passed…died…Magog got to her. There was nothing we could do.”
No words were spoken, as none were needed. Silently the group of heroes gathered together and took flight, following Green Lantern’s lead into the sky.
-----------------------------------------
The funeral was a somber affair held on Paradise Island. The gathered Justice League and Justice Society were allowed rare permission to witness the event, permission granted through respect for their relationship with the Queen. Though the full funeral ceremony would last the better part of a week, the actual rites of passage were held on the first evening.
Sisters-in-arms of Queen Diana carried her funeral bed the full length of the Island, from where they bathed and dressed her body in the warm springs in the east, across to the Palace where all assembled paid silent witness to the passing. Finally, traveling from the palace to the edge of the island where it met the ocean in the west. All along the procession route, the road was lined with watchers and mourners. When the bed was laid into the small raft, young girls in white silks placed exotic flowers on Diana’s body as a lone mellow horn played a melody none of the heroes had ever heard, but would never forget.
At last, a young woman with hair like spun gold began pushing the raft into the ocean, walking it out a distance into the water until she was completely submerged. Drawing their bows, the sword-sisters of the Queen raised burning arrows to the sky and released them as one. The arrows struck the raft and set it alight in orange flame, burning bright against the fading sun. Finally, almost having been forgotten, the young girl walked back from beneath the waves, a slow tear falling down her cheek.
The water reflected the purples and reds of the most beautiful sunset the heroes could remember, and Queen Diana of Thymescira glided over the cool evening waters of the great ocean to her final resting place.
------------------------------------
The heroes met again in the palace of the Amazons. Artemis, leading the Amazons for the moment, had allowed them to stay and recover from their wounds before attempting to return to their time.
“The Princess will take the throne in time,” she told them. “But for now she is still young and untested.”
“Understandable,” Aquaman said. “As was the decision to have the Amazons hold the Temporal Device.”
“Yes, though it is preferable that it be destroyed altogether,” Hawkman said. He hadn’t been altogether comfortable with the idea of leaving it behind, but could see no room for compromise either.
“Fear not, Hawkman,” Artemis said. “It will only remain in case further anomalies present themselves. Once the Pandora’s Box is opened, the evils inside never leave entirely and this may not be the last time Time-Travel is used by wicked men to wicked ends. Thus will we be vigilant over such abuses.”
“Very well,” Black Adam said, aloof and cool and as always, unreadable. “It is time, then. Our history needs defending.”
“Agreed,” Artemis said. “Sisters, activate the device.” With a click and a hum, the large ring of metallic stone, engraved with strange glyphs and symbols, began to spin in place until light burst from its center and solidified into a flowing liquid surface. “Step through and return home.”
“Hold,” came a voice from the back of the room. Turning, they saw the young woman who had walked Diana’s raft into the ocean – Princess Persephone. “I would say farewell to my Mother’s companions a last time.” Walking to them, her silk skirts swishing on the floor as her bare feet padded quietly, she approached Hawkman demurely. With a smile and curtsy, she stood on her tip-toes and kissed both his cheeks.
“Thymescira thanks you, Hawkman and the Justice Society,” she said in a soft, melodic voice that while young still held the tone of confident authority Diana herself had used so well. Turning to Aquaman, she walked forward and curtsied again, though she could not meet his eyes. “Thymescira thanks you, Orin of Atlantis,” she said as she kissed his cheeks. A single tear fell from wet eyes brimming with more, but she held them back. “Return to your home and may your journey save us all this darkness.”
Bowing with respect, Hawkman moved to the portal. “Alright, Justice Society; it’s time.” He stepped through and was followed in turn by Hawkgirl who balked slightly at the watery portal. Black Adam nodded curtly to Artemis as a show of respect for a fellow warrior, before entering himself. Starman walked up, turned to Artemis and bowed a little uncomfortably, not knowing exactly how to say ‘goodbye’ to Amazonian dignitaries. Repeating the process for Princess Persephone, he gave a wave to the Justice League.
“See you on the flip-side.” And with that, Jack Knight returned from his first trip through time. It would not be his last.
“It’s time,” Flash said, laying a hand on Aquaman’s shoulder. The Atlantean was looking toward the Princess with a curious expression that the Speedster couldn’t read.
“Farewell, Artemis,” he said at last. “Farewell Princess. May your rule be prosperous, peaceful, and ever enduring.” Saying no more, he turned and led the Justice League back home.
“Goodbye, Father,” Princess Persephone said. But the League was gone, and none but a saddened Artemis remained to comfort her.
I was about to ask wouldn't they bring her body to the present when I realised this was prob KC WW teaming up w/ JLA, so it's not that big an upset. That would have been a BIG bummer. whew!

That's the beauty of alternate/possible futures - you can feel free to frag 'em up as much as you want to make a neat story with no real fear of consequences.
I'm just going to tuck this info away here for safe keeping in a little time capsule:
Unused points in my initial team = 34 TXP
JSA #1: 8 TAP earned during gameplay + 1/5 X 37 (KO'd opposing figures) = 15.4 TAP
JSA #2: 28 TAP earned during gameplay + 1/5 X 187 (KO'd opposing figures) = 65.4 TAP
JSA #3: 28 TAP earned during gameplay + 1/5 X 287 (KO'd opposing figures) + 2/5 X 110 (captured opposing figure) = 129.4 TAP
Total accumulated TXP thus far using 5 TAP = 1 TXP conversion = 52.55 TXP or 52 TAP w/ 3 TAP left over.
Total TXP overall is now 335 (initial 283 + 52 TXP). Rounded to the nearest 50 is 350, /2 = 175, + 50 = 225 so for JSA #4 I'm looking at a 335pt team & a 225pt squad.
2nd arc team:
[48] R Black Adam (102)
[15] R Dr Fate (85)
[09] R Hawkgirl (27)
[11] R Hawkman (32)
[18] R Starman (37)
-283pts, leaving 52.55 TXP unused
JSA #4 Squad:
[48] R Black Adam (102)
[15] R Dr Fate (85)
[09] R Hawkgirl (27)
-214pts
_______
I don't want to drop anybody from the team just yet but I would like to add somebody. Having only 26 recruitment points only leaves me one option: Black Canary. Let me plead my case:
*I don't think Fut Baller used her in GK #1 (I'm pretty sure my Arkham Inmates played against that team & I don't recall her being there).
*She wasn't in GK #2.
*There hasn't even been a GK #3.
*Fut hasn't been online for nearly a month.
*Her current, starting version, the Rookie, has the JSA ability right on her dial.
*From the gospel according to RookieBatman: "If a character is promoted to a new version that has the Team Ability of another team in the campaign, the other team may recruit the character from the team that currently has them. To do this, the team simply pays their TXP to the other team. Thus, if Black Canary is on the JSA, and the player who is running the JSA promotes Canary to Experienced, she now has the JLA Team Ability. If another player is running the Justice League, that player can recruit the Black Canary from the JSA immediately, paying the JSA player the TXP it would cost to recruit her from the queue. The JLA team now has Black Canary in the roster, and the JSA team now has 78 TXP, twice Exp. Black Canary's cost." He even used her in his example! This character is fated to return to the Bat flock as it is.
*If anything happens to her in my capable hands, we can always say he was the first Black Canary, Dinah Lance's mom.
