Is that how it works, over value lumped together? I assumed from the way that it's worded that you can only trade out individual pieces for cheaper one?
So Dagger for Punisher would be ok, but Spidey is more expensive than any other piece. I know that disadvantages your cheap pieces, but isn't that how the rules are written? I could be wrong.
Originally it was the way that you said, but that's because there also used to be a limit on the number of figures in your squad. RB eventually changed it so that you could take out multiple figures in exchange for one or vice versa, after he removed the restriction on the number of figures you could use in a squad.
I'm pretty sure I altered the new rules to reflect that. Perhaps it isn't clear enough.

Black Cat tried to wake Spider-man up but he was well and truly out of it. 'We've got to get him out of here. The poor thing...after all he's been through' she thought to herself. She carried him around the side of the building and yelled at Cloak to take them out of there, but the big floating head came at her. He was freaky, and he seemed to be trying to get the Spider back if he could. She sent out another grappling hook and carried Spidey over the building, but MODOK again pursued.
When the Cat landed, she noticed that the rest of the team was all heavily engaged in fighting the remaining AIM Agents.
"C'mon guys, we've got Spidey, now lets get out of here already."
Moon Knight punched another Agent and then spotted MODOK approaching. "You're right. We're no match for that thing right now. Okay, grab the wounded, and lets fall back to the Crescent Flyer."
Black Widow had Dagger and Black Cat had Spider-man, which only left the Black Panther. Moon Knight reached beneath the truck for the Panther, but he was gone. How was that possible? There was no time to worry about it, he had to just presume he'd either been captured or fled by himself. Strange that no one had noticed though.
MODOK smiled as the Knights retreated. He had taken their measure now, and found them lacking. Next time they faced one another, they would have no chance at all. Most importantly, they hadn't even suspected that they'd missed out on the real prize. Only Spider-man had been aware of it, but his mind blast meant that they would be long gone before the Spider came around. He entered the truck with the object in and hastened their departure, unaware that the Panther was crouched upon the roof of the truck, hidden from all detection.
