VENTURE. Kickass cyborg cowboy type who schooled Spider-Man 2099 on a couple of occasions. Everyone's not mentioning this guy - he NEEDS to be in this set - he's the closest thing to an archenemy Miggy had (well, outside of Tyler Stone, who probably wouldn't make a great Heroclix fig - he'd be like the CJ Lex Luthor).
Vulture. A nasty cannibal villain - legitimate VULTURE cred, y'know.
Venom. I don't like 616 Venom so much anymore, but Venom 2099 is still pretty cool, moreso because of the jerk the symbiote is bonded to - Kron Stone. The Stone family's gotta represent (well, we're not counting Miggy's true parentage).
Junkpile. If the X-Men gotta be present in some form, let it be this guy. He seemed cool.
Public Eye Flyboys: Few of these guys would be nice. They always harassed Spidey.
MAYBES for this set:
Bloodhawk. Yeah, lame ### name, but big ugly red monster thing with wings.
Thanatos. This guy turned out to be a version of Rick Jones! (as shown in issues of Captain Marvel, where Peter David got to resolve that storyline finally!)
Roman. The Atlantean ruler - although at this point, Atlantis was now a corporate slave colony, I believe. He had a big-### monster stomping through the streets of New York - it'd be cool to get a giant or big fig out of this set.
The Specialist. Basically a samurai dude with a flying bike.
Thorites. Goofy guys what believed there would be a second coming of Thor to save them all.
Tiger Wylde. Doom's archenemy, the man he had to wrest control of Latveria back from.
Hulk. Not a big fan of Hulk 2099, because of that goddamn trendy 'toothy slurpy tongue' look that I never liked. But I can see why he'd be put in.
Risque. Venture's cyborg sister, whom he hates with a passion. Could be fun.
Halloween Jack. I can't remember for sure where he came from - I'm guessing X-Men. But hey, he's bendy and kooky and I think he's in 616 now.
Travesty. Big hulking monstrosity that killed Miggy's favorite teacher.
The CORPORATE RAIDERS! Led by the CORPORATE HEADHUNTER. Can't remember right now. Oh, man, I loved these guys. A bunch of robot-armor lookin' types - the armor designed to look like business suits, and the main guy had a Dum Dum Dugan/Pringles Guy/Mr. Peanut handlebar mustache monocle and derby look to him. They did actual hostile takeovers by attacking ####.
Flipside - weird cloney thing, kinda combo of Spidey and Venom. Quite possibly a version of the Super-Adaptoid.
Strange 2099 - a hot chick with the Eye of Amogotto.
Goblin. Yeah, it's Miggy's brother gone bad, but it was also kinda lame, and never got the resolution it needed thanks to the creative staff quitting in a huff over editorial ####, which is what killed 2099.
Payback. Miggy's brother Gabriel had a girlfriend in the underground, who thought the S-Man was hot as balls. Then she got captured by Alchemax and put into a big-### robo-exo-suit thing.
Punisher. I didn't read Punisher 2099. Not sure how much different this guy is from Frank. I think he's a bit more 'psycho.'
Ghost Rider. Never read this one, either. Mainly a Spidey fan in 2099.
Xina, Dana, Conchata pogs? I'd like to see actual figs, but I doubt that.
S.I.E.G.E. unit armor, perhaps. Everyone likes robots/battle armor.
Man-Spider. Eh. Jerk mutated by foul science!
Jumpcut. Nasty teleporty guy - gets killed by misjudging a jump into solid objects. Grisly.
The Net Prophet. Maybe.
Thor: The false god that Doom, Spidey, Punisher and Ravage have to unite to stop.
Bloodsword. Who later become Bloodhammer and Blood-whatever-weapon-was-handy. Comedy joke, semi-parody of the trends at the time, perhaps?
Lyla. Migue's holo-maid-secretary thing that looked like a golden Marilyn Monroe. Went a little loopy later and tried to kill Miguel.
Tyler Stone. Maybe on a dial with his burly assistant Winston, he could have a good clix dial.
MUST NOTS for this set:
Ravage. Sorry, this was Stan Lee's personal gig, I think, but nah.
Skullfire. C'mon, his name is SKULLFIRE.
Serpentina. Died three issues in. Issue 4 is when I dropped X-Men 2099. No X-Men, really. I can't even remember any more of them. There was maybe a giant metal one.
Firelight. None of that lame-### 'we don't understand the internet yet' virtual reality stuff.
Marvel Knights 2099. That junk from last yearish. All of that was horsepuckey. Why call it 2099 if you're not using the 2099 universe already established? ALL OF IT WAS CARP.
it doesn't take a genius to figure out that this was rigged from the start - there's no way you *buy* all the licenses for the nominees and then wait to see what the public wants and let the others sit.
at the same time you don't wait for the final vote and *then* try to buy the license, since it'll be jacked up since now the owners know there's a demand for it.
so you already have the winner pre-picked and the announcement ready to go and let the public "vote" for something that's already been decided - and then you sit back and let the public think that they've actually had some input in the decision. Look at the other "voting" on other games such as MechWarrior - you can't convince me that decisions aren't made way before the actual voting finishes and products already geared up to go. Those artists setting up molds and creating the actual product need a lot of time to produce the final products to be approved and *then* shipping the molds over to China for mass production.
*shrugs*
it's the way of the world... WK included.
nothing bad about the final "pick" - but let's not think that WK really listens to the fans in these situations. They go for the money, as all companies do.
OMG....this post was just ridiculous....

I realize that...and if they would put in Indy titles choices that I actually CARE anything about I would vote for them....but I had never even heard of Astro City(although I had heard of a couple characters) or Grendel...B.P.R.D. and Hellboy never interested me very much...I looked up stuff about Astro City and Grendel and Astro City ended up being my second choice even because at least the characters sounded cool...Grendel sounded horribly boring to me.
So why should I vote for titles that I have no interest in at all?
If they had put The Authority as a choice...it would of been my first for sure.
Heroclix 5th Anniversary: Expect Nothing...you won't be as disappointed that way.
Man I have never seen so much whining about a set. Do you want to know why 2099 won, or why we have 2 Marvel sets per year? Because Marvel sells more plain and simple. They didn't stop making a full Indy set because they are mean they did it because it didn't sell great. I am sorry if your pick didn't win but don't blame Wizkids. They made a poll system for everyone to vote and Marvel won deal with it. To say Wizkids fixed it is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
but after that, there's still two or three (but I doubt four) slots open depending on how many of the above make the cut.
I never liked the 2099 X-men, so I'd rather see none of them (or X-nation for that matter) at all; I've heard similar sentiments from other fans of the 2099 universe, so I hope now that they've picked the theme, they continue to pay attention to the fans/customers on that one. ( I wouldn't mind an X-men 2099 / X-nation collector's set later on though)
I think they have to give us at least a couple Villains.
My vote on that account geos for Tiger Wyld. they could make him AE to Doom 2099...
...and we all know that Doom 2099 is what won this thing.
I don't know ... that X-men dude with the hands that damaged or cured people is pretty cool ... and also that red flying dude with claws ...

We do. That's why we get 2 to 1 Marvel over DC and that's why we haven't had to put up with another horrible Indy set. Heroclix players have a taste. A taste for Marvel, a somewhat lesser taste for DC and almost no taste for obscure Indy carp.
What I want to know is where the heck all these apparent Indy fans were when Indy came out and promptly sold itself into the toilet.
DC has 2 collectors sets. Indy has 1. And now Marvel gets 1. Deal with it people. The people have spoken and guess what...we disagreed with you.
Ew. 90's Marvel junk. Sorry, but 2099 sounds like a lot of garbage. "Skullfire"? "Bloodhawk"? Ugh. Reminds me of 50 X-Men titles with crossovers every summer and Liefield drawings just by typing those names.
My only hope is that the Big Lebowski kills me before the Germans can cut my d### off.
I'm very sorry you're offended at my being offended by lousy comic books.
Maybe WizKids is just doing my wallet a favor by releasing a 2099 set. I suppose if I really want to buy a 2099 set, I can wait a week or two before they are remaindered out.
