Maybe you did but Im pretty sure it was popular with the 15-25 year olds.
The selfish infect us all with sad, vulgar, sexual references and a constant barage of innapropriate innuendo. A pity to be subjected to this against our wills, but to allow it into our lives with open arms shames us all
i thought the mtv spidey cartoon was pretty good. definitely the best so far. spider-friends?!?!? yeesh!
i think that spidey will be the one that pulls everyone together. he will be the voice of reason that will tie both sides together. he's been on the outside for so long that he has a great view of both sides. i predict that he will give a great speech, then someone will shoot him. but of course, spidey can't die. marvel would be killing their biggest cash cow. and by the way...they better not even think about killing him off or else i'll go completely 'nitro'.

You know, I think we can all see Peter being the one that pulls everyone together at the end. But thats so predictable. Id rather see him broken and abused and maybe have a nervous break down over all this. The esence of drama is conflict.

1 Asset or not, hes going to have to put up with so much stuff by being a government employee. And it makes what he does not really a choice but a job. Not so heroic when youre getting paid to do it. Plus he will be on a schdule. Its hard to be a hero when your on a time clock. No bad guys after 5 pm please.
you're right he will have to do things he doesn't want to. But so do I at my job, and he's helping the next gen of hero's by helping form the basis for training them so there is not another "Stamford". Another thing the hero's don't want... accountability.
2 He was living there before as part of the non government sanctioned Avengers. If MJ leaves then itwill just be him and May. ewwwwww.
Yes but if he doesn't go with stark he has to leave.
3 The armour is Stark Property. What do you thinks going to happen when Peter crosses Tony?
Like the armor or not, it has purpose. It has all sorts of neat little abilities that Spidey can use... Like being bulletproof.
4 But for that paycheck Peteres goingto have to do what hes instructed to do by his handelers. Do you think the governement is going to pay him to just be himself? They always have their own agenda to fulfill. Look at how it went down when the Avengers fell under the US governments control.
yes the government does usually have a agenda but honestly doesn't everyone.
5 Im still not sure who all knows of his ID besides the Avenger and SHIELD.
The Goblins (Green ones not hob) Venom and Scorpion do. It's almost public knowledge at this point. Oh, so does everyone in the super community.
6 Reavealing not only affects Peter but regualr citizens as well. He is becoming the poster boy for registering. Hes a hero and an Icon and now hes a leader. Hes setting an example for other poeple and what they are doing out of patriatism can hurt them. Recruitment or invuluntary governemtn service, outside manipulations, villianous attacks- all made much easier if you have the idents of the people at your fingertips. Its supposed to be a secret list but that kind of info can be bought easily if the price is right. So, its not jist about how it affect Peter, but its the ripple effect through the Marvel U.
Exactly, this is a great point (in part), he is a hero and a Icon, so it's good he leads by example and registers. As I said now maybe the next gen of hero's will register and get trained so there's not another New Warriors incident. Cause lets face it, if you're not mutant there is no where to go to learn about your power and how to properly utilize it.
Death thunderer is akin to love making, it gets better each time.

Right now there still isn't. The government doesn't know how to properly utilize super-powers or how to properly combat those that have them, government agencies have been shown to be about as troublesome to super-villians as a stiff breeze in the 616 universe. I dunno how they are going to protect "assests" like Aunt May from Spider Man's rogues gallery, it isn't like the government could protect any of their other assests from those villians.

Even veteran heros miscalculate sometimes and with someone like Nitro, its pretty hard to find away to contain him. The public is focusing on the Warriors settignthis in motion, but it was Nitro, a wanted criminal who actually blew the stuff up. Hes the one who did it and he should be held accountalbe.
Most hero teams learn by trial and error. Unless they are trained then they are all loose cannons but why do they have to be forced into serving the US government? There should be other options. The Avengers had a trining program. Xaviers was basically boot camp for mutie soldiers. With out options then this stuff is forced military service. ANd even if being a government employee is a good thing, what abou thte freedom to act with thier own conscious? The longer they are under the government control the more rules and restrictions that will come up. Jus t like Rage said in She-Hulk. When someone found out the New Warriors secret IDs. They went out and hunted thier families down. Whats to stop the government form doing that to get what agenda they want out of the registered heroes?

Like when their arch-enemy knocks the hero's unconcious girlfriend off a bridge and the hero shoots a web to stop her from falling, and you get to "hear" her neck "snap" at that moment he gets ahold of her. Yep, that was a BIG miscalculation on some hero's part.

Did that really happen to Gwen? I mean I don't remember any neck being snapped in the original comic book. I do remember reading it in Kurt Busiek's and Alex Ross' Marvels. In Marvels, Gwen snapped her neck because of the recoil from Spidey's web but I don't remember that this was also the reason why Gwen died in the original Spider-man comic. Are we now accepting the Marvels' as the real Marvel continuity for Gwen's death or did I miss this one in the original SPider-man comics?

Thats how she died in the original story. Spidey thought he saved her but Snap!

They have to know someway to train these people in power usage, everyother issue there is some new S.H.I.E.L.D. agent showing up with a power, they had to get trained somehow. As far as protection goes, 24/7 S.H.I.E.L.D. survellence and guards. Also it's never stated that if you sign up that a hero will immediatly get sent in to take out a third world country thats just what everyone assumes. The way it seems to me is that if some villian is out there operating and say Spidey swings in and takes him down S.H.I.E.L.D. is now responsible for the property damage and isn't just playing clean up. They now know Ok SM stopped Rhino, thats Pete and Alex, caused Xamount of dollars in damage. So next time Rhino gets loose, and is out wreaking havoc S.H.I.E.L.D. may contact Gravity to take him down because his fights typically cause less property damage. Plus in the event of another "Stamford" if hero's arent registered they could get away by just taking off the costume cause S.H.I.E.L.D. might not know who they are, but now if a hero accidently kills someone, just like everyone else they are going to be held liable.

And if Spidey swings in to take down a villian who is running amuk and SHEILD has a deal going on? They tell Spidey to let it go. Dont worry about the damage or the bystanders, he's got a free ticket to destoy. They have thier agenda, the heroes dont usually. THey just try to help. And why does it matterthat they know who caused the damage? Neither one has to pay to have it cleaned up. On thier own its like bugger off and part of SHEILD its thier responibility anyways.
And usually when a hero tries to handle a villian its a split second thing and the battle last for a short time. SHEILD wouldnt have time to deploy heroes to fight villian according to whos best suited for the task. If they could do that then they should already be doing that with thier own agents. And they might not send the heroes off to battle some 3rd world nation just yet, but does anyone not think it will happen? Look at how Freedom Force was utilized. Just go by what weve already seen happen in the Marvel U. Why will this be any different then other
And Heroes are held accountable IF they are heroes. Vance Astrovick stood trial for killing his father and he did time. He is the kind of hero that would make Captain America proud. Responsible. SHIELD kills with no thought of consequences because they know they can get away with it.
FInally, how can SHEILD keep a 24/7 surveilence on every heroes family. Every single member of thier family? Get real. There are just too many people to even think that would be an option. And even if they could all be watched and bodyguarded, who wants to be followed and watched all the time. Give up your freedom for safety. Give up your safety to do the right thing. And if they just protect those whos identity somehow becomes public, usually its only after the family is harmed that you realize you need the protection.

In the Original telling... They showed the word "snap" by her neck when Spidey had stuck a webline to her. Later, and there were mentions of this in various interviews with the writing staff, they removed the "snap". Wasn't till "Marvel's" they they put the "snap" back in. Reprints didn't carry the "snap", but the original did. In other words, yeah, it was Spidey that broke Gwen's neck. Big controversery therein. Spidey did, in fact, tho by accident, kill Gwen Stacy. Not that she'd of lived from falling so far down into the water.
It's kinda like the first 6 issue's of the Hulk. He was gray, but later reprints of those issues had him Green instead, till Peter Davidson retold the tale and he was gray again, same thing with Gwen's "snap".
Also, they have the issue's out in TPB now, entitled "The Death Of Gwen Stacy" and you can see the "snap" in that book.
Gwen is dead and Spidey killed her with the best intentions.

Easy.
Same way gamma rays turn people into monsters, or radioactive spider's bites can give one spider-like powers (unless you prefer the retcon and think it's magic) or cosmic rays can produced strange powers in people. It's comic book science. Shield just has to apply it and Whamo, they can watch everyone 24/7. It's just that damned easy.

Or more specifically, just hook into the Sentry's Cloc.
Any idea which side the Sentry is going to be on?
Or will he still be busy gibbering at himself?
