It was liked it, but it wasn't as good as Crisis on Infinite Earths.

It was so-so. I liked parts but felt it could have ben better in others.
You can be Great as Marv Wolfman or Mark Waid and write Great Events, or Be a genius like Alan Moore or Neil Gaiman and turn in gold every little story you touch.
You don't need to make a story confused to be understend for a "few". You need to make a GOOD story to be enjoyed for many.
To me the one who speak better is not the one who have more nice words. In my opinion the one who speak better is the one who can communicate what he try to say in a most effective way.
I can't say that I appreciate people who enjoy parading around their own ignorance.
I read each issue of Final Crisis once and I understood it just fine.
You can dislike the work for many reasons, I could point out a few myself, but try to stay away from the "I didn't get it," reason. It doesn't show proper respect for yourself.
I'll agree that Sinestro Corps War was much better. Though, that's from a "Pax enjoyed it more" factor than anything else. Now if you could just say that you thought Infinite Crisis was awful and Revelations boring as all get out, I'd feel better about agreeing with you
I have a question then. How much DC backstory knowledge did you have prior to reading FC? Alot? Some? Had you read Seven Soldiers prior to this? I'm mostly curious due to the fact that it seems like the more knowledge of DC you had, the mroe you enjoyed it. Morrison did touch on some pretty obscure things during FC to any casual DC fan.
However, I'll fully admit that wasn't the reason I didn't like it. To me it just had a feeling of being a mess. Nothing really happened til issue 4. 1-3 seemed to be all set up. Alot of the characters felt unnecacary. Libra, the Japanese hereos, Sonny Sumo, Barry Allen, and Shilo Normon all felt like they didn't add much and could have easily been dropped from the book or replaced by other characters. Barry is my biggest gripe. Everything he did felt like Wally could have accomplished on his own. He felt, to be honest, redundent in the story. Libra, I just don't get at all. He was built up as a major threat, offing Martian Manhunter. Then in the end he gets taken out, almost backhandedly, by Lex and Sivana. It just felt....jumbled, disjointed. Morrison had some strong ideas (Darkside taking over enslaving humanity) and it's kinda cool the way he did a meta-fictional story about DC comics, but it really felt like he needed to be reigned in and not allowd to run as hog wild as he did. Just my 2 cents on all this.
As a Writer you have MANY ways to explain things without need to read hundred of things. there is many plot devices to explain everything you need to know in a few lines..
Is not the same say "I'm Parallax, Fear!" than say "You don't know who I'm? I'm the one who take the soul of Hal Jordan, I'm the most old and powerful entity in the Universe, I'm Parallax!"
For name someone, John Byrne have a way to write that he tell you all you need to know about everything in everything he write.

I'd say I have a pretty solid amount of DC knowledge. I did read Seven Soldiers (and loved it. I've read that one several times).
Please don't misrepresent me in this. I didn't like Final Crisis as a story. I'm just saying it's not that hard to understand if you take the time to actually read it.
and i happened to really really liek the story. it was much better than infinite crisis and WAYYYYY better than secret invasion. there was a definate ending to this, and it wasn;t jsut used to set up the next year of storytelling for the DCU. Barry didn't yell "No More ROBOTS!" when he came back. he just came back.

I'm SIX moves ahead of The Leader! Top 16 At Worlds 08

I have a pretty broad knowledge of DC, but it felt mostly wasted on Final Crisis since I did not read Seven Soldiers and I don't have a deep, deep knowledge of all things Kirby.
I guess I understood what was happening in the series, but I found myself either not enjoying the way the story was being told or wondering why certain characters/scenes were necessary.
I did enjoy the final two issues pretty well, though. I'd have enjoyed the series more, in fact, if a lot of the #7 concepts had been more thoroughly explored throughout the series.
Biggest critique: The Zoo Crew. Should've had Scott Shaw! brought in just to draw those panels.
Matter-EaterLad Snack List: Time Gem, Remaker
Etrigan Prime Transformation List: Blackhawk Pilot, Per Degaton
I find your responses to many of these comic fans rude and disrespectful.
“Here you are:
Darkseid took over Earth.
Superman beat Darkseid.
Mandrakk pops in for some meta theme.
Superman beats Mandrakk.
It's really quite simple.”
“To say that the works don't make sense in and of themselves just shows a lack of reading comprehension.”
“Uh huh?
You know you didn't really add anything to the conversation, right?
Granted, you're also saying that those who don't think the story is brilliant just didn't get it, so I think I understand the kind of comic fan you are.”
“I can't say that I appreciate people who enjoy parading around their own ignorance.

You know, I don't normally tell somebody "They're Wrong" because that's their opinion. They are entitled to it. The fact that your response to everybody who doesn't like it is simply "Reread it. I read it just fine. You're wrong because I get it!" You could state your opinion in another tactful way. That's great you're a Morrison fan, awesome. But don't rag on the people who pay good money for a product they are not satisfied with (in this case: Morrison's work). They pay for it, they are entitled to their opinion. I like a good story myself. I believe the story should be self contained within its core books. I don't think you should have to buy other tie-ins to fully get the story. If they planned it that way, why didn't they just expand the story from 7 to 10 issues? A good example of a well put-together book is art+writing. The writing is great, but he jumps around too much, trying to be different, having the reader guess what the answer is. The art is great as well, but the same problem, too much going on. A well drawn comic, in my opinion, should be easily read without words. Trying reading Final Crisis without the text.
You like to put other people down, I get it.
“I can't say that I appreciate people who enjoy parading around their own ignorance."
That's the pot calling the kettle...
You sir, don't show proper respect for yourself.
And in ending my response, a little word for the wise: Remove thy lips from Morrison's bum.
Actually thinking about it, you might be Morrison in disguise. In that case Final Crisis sucked!
A well drawn comic, in my opinion, should be easily read without words.
I have to disagree with this assessment. Comics should be a synthesis of words and pictures.
Well, I AM pretty awesome.
An understanding of the law of large numbers leads to a realization that what appear to be fantastic improbabilities are not remarkable at all but, merely to be expected.

I've only expressed my opinion on the series a few times in the thread. I'll toss out a suggestion to you that I've tossed out to others: Hone your reading comprehension.
I don't like Final Crisis. Since you think I do, I think it's fair to say that you haven't actually read my responses.
All I've tried to do is point out to people that the story really isn't that confusing if you sit down and read it.
Furthermore, and I think it's rather silly that I have to defend myself as someone who typically doesn't like Morrison's works, I typically don't like Morrison's works. I've only ever enjoyed his JLA, New X-Men, Marvel Boy, and Seven Soldiers. Well, that and I scream for joy every time I think of Superman Beyond, but, doesn't everyone?

And Morrison fall big there.
I Never directly communicated with you Carlos.
But this is exactly how I Feel about Grant Morrison, I was with it midway. but final crisis 7, was Superman Beyond 3D issue 3
