I don't know if it was from any specific era. Because Hawkman and the Atom have been friends and have teamed up in plenty of books including being in their own book for a little while.
It's not important, just something to keep my brain occupied over Christmas!
I'm curious what image inspired the sculpt. Every picture I've found has Atom on Hawkman's shoulder, and not in his hand. The simplicity of the look seems to indicate silver age, but at the time, the wings flared out at the tip, not in.
The Martian Manhunter eating Oreos Sculpt is Awsome! As for the Hawkman and Atom, not soo much. I Like the idea and am sure it's going to be a decent figure to play with but I would have rather had a Wonder Woman & The Atom Duo . Reasons why, 1. Wonder Womans hands a both free so easier to fight. 2. The Atom enjoys the spot he gets to rest in. Example:
Almost but not quite it was during his run that they kill off Punch as a Squaddie. After that Jewlee appeared only twice since in the Wedding Special and Salvation Run but they were exclusive for good on 20 years

Batman and Aquaman (See Brave and the Bold issue #82 and #126) http://www.comics-db.com/comic-book/...e_Bold_82.html
(sad face as this will probably be the only Aquaman with 2 real hands and no starfish on his face and yet he doesnt rate his own dial)
So long as Aquaman is A) well sculpted, B) easily removable from the duo so I can do a simple figure swap onto an older dial I'll be happy....

I don't know, but I know I've seen that picture before. I'm sure it's a cover. I just don't have the time to scour the net for it.
Ultimatley we are getting to the point where the unmade figures are so small in name value they arent used as a selling point. Characters like Cyclone, Saint Walker and Atomic Skull will never push sales as Much as Harley/Ivy, Flash/Gl or even the 5 millionth Superman

Martian Manhunter needed a update in the worst way. There has been no real show of his mental powers or intellect as a JSA or JLA member. Hawkman has a nice sculpt but really I like the old origins (look and dial) one better. Really the old REV was fantastic. Let's hope we get to see a GOOD MM and a new take on hawkman...is this one a duo (or is the JLA fanboy in me seeing that atom?)
I'd rather see a few more mechanics like those on the Warriors Three or Mammoth and Shimmer to represent team-ups.
I'd actually prefer a duo to those mechanics. If you play only one of the linked figures then you're wasting the points built in for the special power. So instead of a single dial, you've got two that you can't play apart effectively.
Mind you, this has been a complaint of mine since Infinity Challenge... you can't build a team with just one X-Man or Defender, or else you're wasting the TA.
I understand and even share the desire for many characters -- particularly Harley and Ivy -- to be remade as individuals with "modern era" dials.* But that doesn't mean I can't be intrigued and even excited by what a duo dial might bring.

* - Of course, they did get new dials in Alpha. Harley's is pretty good. I know, that "doesn't count."
