why should that be a problem? I don't get non geeks sometimes...Aeryn is a beautiful name.
and the surfer's last post reminds me that if I were a carpenter I'd hammer on a piglet. I'd collect the seven dollars and I'd buy a big prosthetic forehead and wear it on my real head... everybody wants prosthetic foreheads on their real heads!
Its not the name, but the fact that I slipped something geeky past her without her knowledge. She vetoed all the other comic/sci-fi/fantasy names that came up with for both our children, so I think it was more that I managed to slip it in than what the actual name was.

Since my brother (TheAvengerthor) doesn't post here that often, I am going to make a post on his behalf. He met his wife while they were both wearing prosthetic foreheads. That's right...they were both Klingons. They were "Klingon Married" to each other first, and then fell in love and got married for real a short while later. Their daughter Isabelle Kara Peterson (The Kara part was from Supergirl) is the awesome little girl that calls me Uncle Surfer. My wife posts on the realms as Dngrgrrl. Both my brother and I and both of our wives play heroclix. (We're just one big happy geek family)
That is the most beautiful and precious thing I have ever heard. I could cry.

It's a great "They Might be Giants" song. I always thing of my Brother and Sister in law when I hear it.

Okay, gotta conjure up something else cause my last seems a bit lacking now... ooh...
1. I have a published superhero novel. I have two more in their first drafts. (one character sits on my bookcase in HeroClix form!)
2. I took Japanese and while in Mandarin class as our final, I directed, partially scripted, filmed, and yadayada, a Street Fighteresque video final complete with music and myself as Spider-Man (climbing up a wall, web shooters to finish Goku... victory dance and music being the 60s theme song...).
3. I dress up in varying costumes to come to work (college campus, cafeteria) and perk up the students. Seems to cut through the funk of being in college sometimes.
4. Ah, the best for last... At the end of every semester, I come in on the last day and spend the entire day building... LEGO sets in the cafeteria. This past fall, I built my entire Star Wars army and filled three tables (table hog...). That's 300 some odd troopers of varying styles, several Gunships, a dropship, half-dozen walkers, a tank, and some battle droid stuff for good measure. All the Sith Lords and Grievous, most of the Jedi available, and of course, the DK dictionary in case anyone wanted to peruse it. Had half a dozen kids helping me build some stuff and not one person who entered the cafeteria could not pass my tables and hang around for awhile. Everyone had to have a look or take pictures. It was my Crowning Moment of Awesome.
Next. Maybe you're a geek if you know what CMoA came from.
This is, of course, the epitome of awesome on these boards.

The frame itself is about 1.5 feet across in diameter. It is currently on our wall. He also made a character card to go with it. He went all out for me for christmas this year.

The dial turning ring rocks!!! I wear it every game, even though it doesn't work on half of my Clix.
My next door neighbor even painted his dial turning ring to look like the Green Lantern ring.
One night, between games, I was in the restroom. My dial turning ring fell off and I had to reach in and grab it. But damn it, that ring brings me good rolls!
AND it's the one from my IC starter!
"One day I feel I'm ahead of the wheel, and the next it's rolling over me."
This is not the case with me or most of my friends. Granted, the type exist. Believe me when I say that I've encountered them, but this is not me. I've kissed a girl. Hell, I'm married and live in a house that I own. (not my mom's basement as society would have you believe)
Don't hate me because I'm Geek
