I thought the 75th Anniversary set was going to be a collector's set of seven figures.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
While I agree that things have sometimes skewed toward marvel in heroclix, this seems very unbalanced towards DC. What is it: 5 DC sets and 1 Marvel?
Two full expansions, which follow the standard alternation. (See previous post.)
One starter, which follows the standard alternation. (Danger Room/Legion/Fantastic Four/Blackest Night)
That leaves the Watchmen collector's set and the Brightest Day "thing without fiddly bits."
So yes, it is odd that we don't get any secondary product from Marvel this year.
But what you would you have WizKids do? Hold back the DC products just because they didn't have an agreement with Marvel for their own secondary product?
I'm all for the DC releases this year. Granted I'm not big on the Watchmen stuff, I will check it out before deciding if I'm going to get it. But the rest I will be getting since I do like the main DC universe best of all in comics and clix.
I had already heard the rumors about the DC clix release this fall, just thought it was going to be one instead of two releases. I have no problem with it.
But for Marvel clix they are to start the year off in Late Jan./early Feb. with a release then. I just hope with the Spiderman set later this year we get two major figures. A current/grown up Spiderman VETERAN who has a great sculpt. We also get a current/in costume VETERAN Wolverine.
I dont want any lousy rookie versions. As long as we at least get those two I will be happy with Marvel clix.
Haven't seen anyone posting details of their Black Hand fig from the show floor, so here you go: an image from he one I've been playing with (heh - you guys really want a photo of my desk right now), the card and dial.

As someone more of a Marvel fan than a DC fan, I too wish there were at least one more Marvel product to look forward to. Ah well.
As for Marvel's 70th anniversary in 2009, let's be reasonable. "Marvel Comics" first appeared as a logo on the covers of comics in the 1940s, even though it didn't officially become the publisher's *only* name until around 1963 or so. Nevertheless, from Marvel Comics #1 on, all the comics we think of as Marvel were published by the same publisher (which isn't even true for DC, which has a number of characters that started out at other companies, including the Flash, Green Lantern, Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman, Hawkman, etc.).
So we can either accept that Marvel Comics has been around since 1939, or accept that Human Torch, Captain America, Namor, the Fantastic Four, Hulk are all older than the company that published them.

Re-naming of Psy Blast for easier understanding on the PAC?
That's my guess. New starter will tell.
Or maybe they renamed Exploit Weakness? Does anyone know the character well enough to tell whether or not Nekron should have Exploit Weakness as a power?
May all your hits be crits!
