The sculpt is mehhh and the "smoke cloud maneuver" as the power just isn't that great. 2 squares even though they are a free 2 squares is just that, "2 squares"... A different take on Batman as Dick Grayson for sure, but for his point cost and without outwit I don't think he is worth grabbing for unless your a fan of Dick Grayson as Batman or want to be thematically accurate.
I apologize if this was already covered by "2 squares free" is a lot like having a Smoke-Cloud version of Lunge. You pop the smoke, move your two and then for your normal action later in the turn, perform your Charge.
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

I also like the Robin from Arkham.
The perplex and 6 Range is awesome. His Tear Gas SP would work pretty well with Charging in afterwards. (Even across elevated)
The 79 point Crisis Robin just seems like too much points for this duo but the upfront outwit is nice. He has ESD which seems to not work well with Bats CR but I'm sure some strategist has it all figured out
2 - 11 attacks and flight. Very nice. Smoke Cloud Maneuver is refreshing. I feel it should of been anybody with a Batman Ally TA. But using Robin is more comic accurate.
Overall a dial I really like. I do wonder about the 4 range. Are batarangs getting heavier and harder to throw? I haven't been reading about Dick as Batman, anyone who has know of a comic based reason for the shortest range Batman to date? (Dark Knight Detective from Icons excepted)
I've been thoroughly following Dick's reign as Bats. And while (n the books) he is much more of a close combat fighter, he warrants a 6 range at the very least. But, all in all, he's pretty accurate; I love him. It's a different person under the cowl, and he likes to jump into the fight fists first where Bruce went in brains first.
That being said, I would really like to see an LE Dick with a wild card trait to show how well, how often, and how amicably he works with the rest of the DC superhero community. Even the Gotham City cops like him.
I'm psyched to get a Dick Grayson Batman, but fuming about the sculpt. Absolutely terrible. The eyes are ridiculous.
It doesn't help that I'm not a fan of Frank Quitely. I much prefer the way he was drawn in the Batman series as opposed to Batman and Robin. Might need to do a dial swap with another Batman sculpt...
But even taking into account Quietly's work, that's the best cover image Or splash page They could find of Quietly's stuff? Maybe the easiest, but not the best.
I'm all for them using cover images for the basis of a sculpt, but at least with the Runaways they found interesting covers.
I loved seeing Dick Grayson as Batman in the Batman series done by Tony Daniel. For the sculpt I would have loved to see him in mid-jump ready to punch a thug as that helpless thug was looking like he had lost his lunch, it would have been great. Another great sculpt would have been the cover of Batman 687 when he was standing on the corner of the roof and the bats were circling behind him and his cape was blowing in the wind and he looked po'd! However, I love the dial and can't wait to play him!
And not every power needs to be a special power. I understand the mechanical differences of having the wing symbol vs. the flight ability, but really, just having the wing symbol and gaining earthbound would have been less things that you have to reference a card for, and I'm all for that.
Pretty good dial otherwise.
The sculpt is pretty ugly in my opinion. It's cool to homage covers, but THAT cover? I think that there are plenty of more exciting images of Dick as Batman, such as this one.

If you understand the mechanical differences, then you understand how wrong your above statement is. Dick Grayson should not be able to carry other characters as a matter of course. He should be able to be carried. The wing symbol would be contrary to both of those.

I'm not a fan of Quitely's art, either, but the cover you reference is pretty fugly itself, IMO.
Furthermore, as I said earlier in either this thread or the other, Batman & Robin #1 is the only pose I could think of for Dick-as-Batman where the majority of people wouldn't get him confused (visually) with Bruce. If only because that cover was on the promotional posters in comic shops advertising the new series, on the little postcards they stuff in your bags, and all of that. Any other pose they could put him in that's based on a cover, from the first "Batman: Reborn" issue by Judd Winnick (awesome cover) to the one you link to above (also fugly), the only one that inherently says "Dick" to me is B&R #1.
Would you all be complaining if it was a duo figure based on that cover? That's seriously what I thought they were going to do.

When it comes to Superman and Batman, Grant Morrison is nothing but a 50's cover band in a 70's psychedelic funk style.
A Batman character with flight, this really helps the mobility of any Gotham team. I also like the trend of using cover art to base sculpts off of, it really helps with knowing what era the fig is from.
