Morning of distractions have seen me signed in here but away from this screen for a while so far.

Still waiting on my GSX main order. A problem with a UPS driver who was unfamiliar with the pick-up route meant despite the label being made up this past Friday (and so it set to arrive today via Ground) it hasn't begun the journey yet. Feh. Definitely not happy about it, as I'd hoped to have it all in hand by this evening and be pressing into sell and trade territory by late tonight.

Yeah, I want two t-shirts for myself so I have one to wear at each of my venues.

• Pre-production scheduled to begin in June.
• An in-house, 11 minute piece to air this summer.
• Contract includes a 60-90 minute feature to be produced sometime for an as yet unspecified format. (Could be DVD first, then tv.)

It's likely best for all if I stay out of that sort of thread. I have that fundamental problem of really disliking a prize-driven system, and will relentlessly call B.S. on any who claim that it has no impact on the Great Guys™at his particular venue.

That's fair enough, but I can honestly say that at my two venues, there ARE great guys.

At Graham Crackers, The 8 regular players were playing week after week without any kind of prize support even when the game was on hiatus with no sign of coming back.

At Got Comics, it's generally the same 4-5 guys that win for the most part week after week. (We have a lot of new players there)
I count myself amongst that 4-5, and we almost always give our prizes away when we get them to the younger kids or the newer players.

I know that we may be far and away the exception to the rule, but I just want to show that there are exceptions.

I just didn't want to appear any older than I already do.

Knowing that some venues soldiered on well through the time when there was no Wizkids gave me some hope, but it's back to the same old business over the past year.

Prizes, unless they're utter carp or are otherwise readily available, always influence the team-building and play styles of at least some of the players.

Yeah, as I've said, it's best if I stay out of that sort of thread. I've been to a variety of venues and even became something of a regular here and there, but it always reaches a point where the unpleasant outweighs the pleasant, and prizes are a significant ingredient.
I'm glad you enjoy them, but I do not honestly believe in such exceptions. It works well for your group, but that's its own dynamic that you're comfortable with. People have shuffled into their own comfortable spots and pecking order.
