Ok so it's been a while since anybody has talked about the metagame. With the Superman be leaked has anybody seen anybody with potential? I think Earth one Superman chase and Cyborg Superman have a lot of potential.
I see people referencing MtG's release schedule/tournament structure, and it makes me wonder why WK doesn't do more sets like Classics. MtG has an excellent idea in their "Core Set" structure, with annual editions of reprinted cards rotating into Standard alongside newer sets. This allows popular and playable older cards to remain in the main tournament format, which makes for more expansive play and allows players who have been around for years to be rewarded for keeping their older cards (since cards that were reprinted automatically bring their identical older editions into the Standard format with them).
WK should mimic this policy and release a Marvel and DC Classics set every few years, make them small sets of reprints of popular and powerful figs from older sets. This will allow excellent figs like Hawkman and Surfer to come back, probably with new sculpts, but in the same form people enjoyed in the older sets. Of course, WK would have to be careful not to reprint nutty stuff like KC Supes (or any of the KC figs, really) for balance purposes.
Flash has potential as well, with his "appear from nowhere and attack anywhere on the map" power.
He can also be the perfect support character and be placed perfectly where you need the perplex/pc I sort of want to team him up with icy cap. If done right you can potentially have icy cap in the first turn.

They did this with the Classic Iron Man pack. I don't think it did so well. I think the fast forces packs will the be their answer to that. I also am curious about the hulk ff and superman ff just because there are codes for Heroclix online.

They could also include reprints of powerful or popular figs as LEs in other sets, that might work out better.
Metropolis is looking like a strong Keyword when Supes hit because of Reign of the Supermen. Erradicator or Superboy with Earth 1 Supes or Rookie All-star Supes is a very good combination for 300. Options for Penetrating Damage, lots of reducers, Outwit or Perplex with Superman Ally, access to TK or Erradicator's high defenses and a little Isis/Osiris action if you sacrifice your Superman. Also if you use Earth One then you'll have space for AE Clark Kent for some Perplex.

He can also be the perfect "tactical retreat." character. Have him do is thing, and then remain aggressive with him. Once he gets hit by an opponent, have him use his SP again, but then this time pop up next to Night Nurse in a secure area.
My H/W link does not reflect the wants for my collection, it is a list of figures that I already have, but still "want" to play.
KZ will likely phase out with retirement, so expect HSS to either reign supreme, or require another silver bullet piece.
I hope you're wrong about B&B. It'd be neat to try this Apokolips team next summer:
SU Darkseid 267
BB Parademon Grunt 33
=300 points. DS carries the PG 10 squares and the Grunt can Charge 4 with a 10 AV to possibly get a first-strike on Nightcrawler, immediately taking him out of the game, practically. ('Course, you'd have to roll a nine or better and get past Shape Change, and Super Senses. Stupid damn Mary Sue figure.)
God is smarter than we are....
Visit Heroclixin'! Or check out my trade thread. Molly Hayes' KO list: HoT Ultron, HoT Thor, SI Iron Man, AV Wonder Man, SI Sentry, LE Diana Prince, R IC Ultron, Pretty Boy, CW Kang, IIM Thunderball, TW Catwoman, OP Red Hulk.
The new Zibarro LE will be a part of the Meta. A 54-pt stealth-busting outwitter that can share the Superman Ally TA is not to be ignored. He can also increases his Taxi's speed. The only downside here is lack of keywords.
How is Catwoman indomitable? Everyone deserves it before her, even Aunt May.
There are more than a few figures from the Superman set that I think will see serious play.
SM001R Superman
SM007 Star Boy
SM012 Livewire
SM025 Matter-Eater Lad
SM026R Lucy Lane, Superwoman
SM031 Non
SM044 Ursa
SM045 Wonder Woman
SM054R Black Adam
SM055 Superman
SM103 Bizarro-Girl
SM104 Zibarro
SM101 Commander El
Aquaman gets a huge honorable mention. Map makes or breaks this character, and unless we get at least one map with some serious H2O action, his true potential won't be in Modern.
150 pt Superman
100 pt Black Adam
Ursa
Commander El (maybe)
Magog Rare
Manhunter Grandmaster
The Flash
maybe Zibarro since he's also really cheap outwit.
Once Metron is retired,
White Lantern Flash
Bencrawler
HoT Venom
Bullseye w/ T-bolt ATA
will lead the pack.
In no way will Darkseid ever be truly competitive in Modern 300... just no way. WL Sinestro and GSX Phoenix are 2 of the best modern high point tentpole 300 pt teams currently and they fall pretty fast to Bencrawler/WL Flash. I'm fairly certain WL Sinestro and/or GSX Phoenix can brutalize Darkseid.
The new Darkseid will shine in higher point games where he has more support to Mastermind. Omega Effect, 12 range, and Master Strategist of Crisis Darkseid is just so effective in 400 pts+ and I see no point playing the new Darkseid over the Crisis version except for cool factor of Sculpt.
Variety is good
I like the selection of low-mid cost mobile beatsticks Superman brings to the table. Its just that I don't see any of them really bringing anything more to the table that WL Flash can't already do. (relevant to competitive meta)
Its too early to tell how well the new Flash will fit into the meta.
I'm really liking the potential of 100 pt BA. Off the top of my head here's a team
Bullseye w/TB ATA 125
Black Adam rookie 100
Venom HoT 73
298
