Technically Wheel Gator wasn't even a Maverick at the time the game was supposed to take place - he didn't defect until after the first game, and the game was set before the first game. The reason I was called out as Mafia was because I was driving around DroppinSuga's dead body if I recall correctly. Still, the Mafia theme was easy enough to see, and I did not fit the mold, but people just wouldn't listen to me for various reasons.

That was the reasoning for my question. He said I was scum if I hadn't claimed. But if I had been doc/vig/cop and claimed the character I actually was, I would most definitely been killed tonight (unless the killer was redirected, I was busdrove...etc. etc.). So, just because one doesn't claim with half the votes needed on the first day, doesn't mean he/she is scum. And heck, I don't consider pressure pressure until its only a vote or two away from a lynch *shrugs*.

Personally, I like an active day 1. That makes it a lot easier to pick good targets during the night. And yes, sometimes you do get unlucky and have to claim, but then it is up to your fellow townies to protect you.

Wheel Gator or not, your attitude thus far doesn't inspire me to trust you. If zyxba is a character who was mafia and is now not mafia, our roles' past alignments should not be taken as an indication of our alignment.

Furthermore, Wheel Gator did end up turning evil in the source material...

Please remember that "the source material" in this case is the Mafia game, not the actual video game series. The story was slightly different there.
But if the Mafia theme is not just reused Mafia roles, what do you think it could be?

Again, I'm just tired of being thought of as scum for wanting to progress days/things everyone else is doing. *shrugs* nothing more, nothing less. What attitude is it that you perceive? And, ok, so you'll take zyxba at his word that his role used to be mafia but isn't anymore, but you question my claim that my alignment is still town? Logic there I am missing.

Wonder how many people's alignments have changed. Mine power hasn't been modifies and my alignment's the same.

Actually, it wouldn't have assured anything. Assuming you're a townie, you have to trust the other town members to be awake and able to cover you if you claim an important role. Likewise, most mafias (unless they have a sneaky workaround, and they sometimes do) will not mess with a claimed character on N1 unless it is a fairly harmless claim.
