I can see several reasons they would. Surely, there are players with win conditions like "Kill all heroes" or the like, which would want to see Kness dead. However, I agree that Kness might be around longer. Since people can circumvent Kness's win condition easily, unless your win condition cause you to want Kness dead, you probably won't bother with killing him.

Voting for Kness will result in a near random dying since he's so unlikely to reach his win condition. Not sure why so many people want that. In fact, I think anyone voting for Kness right now is a pretty good kill target.

Voting for Kness keeps the kill away from any villains who have "win when all heroes are out of the game" and who would want to kill him.

K-ness actually is probably extremely safe from getting killed by the vote power. Anyone we give it to couldn't risk outing themselves as someone who needs heroes dead. That is, assuming there aren't multiple kills at night.

You're never going to be productive by giving the kill to the guy who damn near can't win.

Very good point. I'm still not entirely sold on giving the kill power to K-Ness though. If he were to come up with some sort of criteria, my vote would definitely be on the table.
