Actualy S.H.I.E.L.D. is:
A friendly Figure occupying a square adjacent to a SHIELD agent delivers 1 extra click of damage when it hits with a ranged combat attack. This counts as a move action for the SHIELD agent, though the character does not move.
no LOS is needed. Just costs an action. You are thinking of the HYDRA TA I think.
Actually, he is correct. As the PD TA is exactly the same as the Hydra TA. In both cases, neither cost you an action (like the SHIELD TA), but all figures being used to up a friendly's attack value, must have clear LOS to the target figure.

1) Perplexing Exp Whirlwind's damage up and moving him in with exp Dr. Doom (to share the 11 attack) for one nasty flurry attack or...
2) Moving one of my X/Men/Wildcard Pieces next to my opponent's X-men/wildcard Pieces and them Mind controlling them to heal my guy (hopefully pushing them to do so). Then smacking them with the guy they just healed.
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.

Doesn't the one who got healed, receive an action token? I could be wrong, but......

Not so sure this is a nasty tactic but keep in mind I'm fairly new to the game. I team up my (V) Human Torch with my (U) Spiderman XP. Spidey shares his 17 defense with Torch who's Energy Shield kicks in and gives him a 19 versus ranged attacks. Torch carries around Spidey making running shots, and if someone bases Spidey is there to help out, oh and he has a range of 4" with 2 clicks of damage. Keep in mind this is a 300pt team and if they try to concentrate on the Spidey/Torch team then they will get cut down by the (E) Shadowcat (E) Sabretooth team. Don't forget about (R) Wasp taxing around (R) Taskmaster just to keep it interesting. Oh and (V) Robin is stealthed taking pot-shots at passerbys, and a (V) Paramedic just in case.
I am a huge fan of force blast. It is great for those characters with Super senses, impervious or high defense that are next to walls or non flyers on top of buildings. A great counter for E Batman or V Nightwing. Taxi a FB fig up onto the roof behind them blast them off the roof for two damage and out of stealth where the rest of your team can blast them.
In a high point value mixed universe game I like to use a lot of Doombots with a few Intergang agents to put more outwit on the board than anyone can cope with.
Played in a torney sunday and was victim to a first turn move with lantern and a few mimics like ultron flew the team over and nightmare enhanced the hell out of a splash-damage barrage and my team was set up to use the lantern ability as well (6 adj char). Needless to say I ate the farm!
ouch, thats messed up. My fav tactic, if it can even be used legally.....is to mind control his mind control guy to mind control my other over 100 point mind conrtol guy to mind control his most powerful guy to kill his mind control guy.
