Really nice work. I hope to have the opportunity to replicate your achievements at some point in the future. I have a few too many unfinished projects on already and need to cross some off before embarking on another!

Until i continue to show you more of my 3D prints, here is again an Attack Wing ship. Although i made something different with the Federation shuttles, i decided to make the Ferengi shuttle a full 25 point ship, because there are not that many different Ferengi ships. So here is "Quark's Treasure".



Making this was difficult. This shuttle wasn't armed, or at least i think it wasn't. On the other hand it was involved in time travel which is always good for Probability Control. I couldn't find a 25point dial with that AND a zero damage value so i used the dial from CHAOS WAR #204 Space Phantom and changed it a little. This dial is at 60 points, but i reduced the damage to 0 for the shuttle being unarmed and because it got the symbol i also reduced the defense values by -1. The special power was changed also a bit because the Ferengi did not really have Mind control powers but used this white lie to fool some stupid humans (Outwit), so they can't use this with ships with the Scientist keyword as these should be smart enough to tip to the scam. As this ship was sabotaged to accelerate until it explodes, Phasing/Teleport with increasing speed values is fitting. As said earlier, this ship traveled through time which is a good explanation for Probability Control, Rom and his hidden engineering skill is good for Perplex and the shape shifting Odo, who hid in the ship to tail Quark, well this would do for Shape Change i thought . With no damage value this ship is only a support for your fleet. While on click 1 to 3 it can use Probability Control or Perplex it was pretty useless on its 4th and 5th click, therfore i moved the special power from click 2 and 3 to click 4 and 5, so it can use at least Outwit on this clicks.

Thanks so much for the heads-up on that very attractive promotion. I would have been all over it as you have so many models that call to me, but sadly I was undone by Shapeways' insistence that billing and delivery addresses be in the same country.

We are nearing the fourth anniversary of this thread so i thought it's time for something new. Or at least new for you, as i did the 3D model of this ship about half a year ago. I did tons of other ships in the meantime on shapeways and they're all waiting to be painted in a box right here. Recently i found the time to paint this and make a card and dial. This one is also an early ship from Enterprise to get some opponents for the NX-1 Enterprise and the NX-02 Columbia. This time it's the Orions with their...



These ships only appeared in the episode “Borderland” where they attacked the Enterprise and abducted nine crewmen including T'Pol to sell them as slaves. They also later chased the fleeing Enterprise after the rescue of their crewmen. One of the Interceptors then were destroyed by the Klingon Bird-of-Prey commanded by Soong and his Augments. They seemed to be well armed in the episode but they also used the element of surprise to attack the Enterprise in the first place and later they were only chasing the fleeing Enterprise while one was easily destroyed by the Bird-of-Prey, which I see in the 50 points range. So making this a 25 point ship felt appropriate. I used the dial from COLLATERAL DAMAGE #004 Ragman. This dial already is at 25 points but as this is an old dial (Golden Age) it could take the beef up by giving it and a range of 5 without being overpowered in my opinion. The Batman Ally Team ability I made into a trait. I mainly choose the dial because of its Steal Energy to depict the abduction of their crews to sell them as slaves. I didn't give it the symbol like the Bajoran Interceptors or the Klingon light Attack ship. The later two are both below 100m in length and although i have no size reference for the Orion Interceptor i personally believe they are at some 120m±, just a little too big for being tiny my opinion. Further I wasn't able to find any name for one of these ships, therefore and to make it possible to easily play multiple copies of them I made them generics this time. Regarding their Keywords, they pair up good with the Nausicaan Pirates...

The model, as i said was entirely built by me in 3D because i wasn't able to find a fitting miniature of it. There are one or two resin kits out there but they all are way too big for Tactics/Attack Wing. There are no profiles or other original sources out there than the screen caps, some original sketches by John Eaves (the original designer of this ship) and the mentioned resin kits. So my version can just be regarded as a good guess (a very good I hope ). But this way I was able to already add the socket for the pegs and model the "teeth" elevated onto the wings, so they are easier to paint. As i wrote earlier i had no size for it, so i just made it 4cm wide, exactly the width of a small Attack Wing base.

I love this design. The bird like appearance almost looks like it is a Romulan design. Maybe they were “given” to the Orions by the Tal Shiar to cause some trouble among the other races... Also the wing art is something very rare in Star Trek. John Eaves original sketches even had red wingtips and a red nose like they were covered with blood. I was tempted to paint one of these like that, but resisted to stay canon

After Photobucket has switched to a non free business model and wanted about $400 per year from me to keep the pictures up, i now moved to picload.org. I renewed all the picture links in the entire thread, so they are all back now. I recently haven't done much here, as i just couldn't find the time for my hobby right now. Further it seems as if Robert's dial maker has disappeared where many of my drafts were saved.

Now with Wizkids announcing a new Tactics IV set, i think many of my customs become obsolete . But I'm curious if their version do resemble my custom-made dials and if they use some of my ideas . Let's see what the future brings.

I remain hopeful that I can pick up some of your superb 3D ships, one day. I don't hold out much hope for any new tooling in WK's Tactics IV set. I suspect it will simply be a case of them reusing all the Attack Wing ship minis that have been released since Tactics III.
