please clarify this for me, where does it say on here "no con exclusives allowed" please i came up expecting to use bat-mite but was told that i wasnt allowed to use it, because it was mentioned in the forums. can one of you guys show me the thread where this was mentioned please? as con exclusives are modern. "We will be playing under the new rules, using the Modern Format at the time (ie from Superman onwards will be legal)

I (among others) was aware convention exclusives were disallowed. I would have played my con LE Dr. Fate otherwise.

of course they are not available at goodgame stores, and convention exclusives dont come under those guidelines, con exclusive have been available to the public online for quite awhile and can won at conventions, they are considered modern therefore they are legal, half of my figures i own were not not available through goodgames stores, some of our heroclix at our store are currently unavailable your store, dopes this mean we cant use use it tournament modern play? even though it has been out for a good month or 2??

Before I rip briscoe a new one let me take this opportunity to thank all the Good Games staff, MODOK, Thanosied and a special thank you to Eliza - if it were not for their own time and effort they sacrificed we would not have such a great event to continue to talk about 3 days after it was done.

Also thank you to our friends from interstate and overseas that we have not met before - It was great meeting you all for the first time and hope to see you all again for the next major event

As for briscoe - This was a Good Games run AND FUNDED event. The whole idea was to use figures that could have been purchased at a Good Games store. How does using a Batmite that you did not purchase from a Good Games store help their bottom line? So you're not AU national champ this year because you couldnt use a figure that you did not buy from Good Games?- Tough. Live with it. Rather than complaining you should be greatful that they gave you prizes that will end up being the same value of your trip to Sydney rather than selling them to you.

You should also be greatful that you got off from buying us chicken burgers for another year.

Of course they come under those guidelines, as those were the guidelines for this tournament.

Not for this tournament they weren't, as per post 59 and the set list in post 2.

And the ones that were unavailable through a Good Games store weren't eligible to be used in this tournament. Nor did anyone do so in this tournament.

Was it available at a Good Games more than two weeks before the tournament? Yes? Then it's valid. Show me where I said it had to be currently stocked in a Good Games store.

I am unsure what point you are trying to make with these messages, but you are coming across as having sour grapes because you didn't win the tournament.

Everybody else understood that Convention pieces were not able to be used in this tournament except you.

I'm not going to waste any more time responding to your messages on this subject.

i actually enjoyed the tournament wasnt too happy when the judge on the day told i could use bat-mite then said no(which was confusing), i will enjoy coming next year and redeeming myself and have fun, i am not a bad person i just misunderstood the situation, i hope to come back soon to take you all on for nationals next year

i wasnt told that all the figures used were supposed to be purchased from goodgames lol oh well such is life i will be back next year and you guys stick arouind this time rather than all leaving like last year i might actually get you all chicken burgers lol, because i was serious about those burgers last year. i will try to bring more of the other clix players from my venue next year if they can be bothered coming until then

I'm sorry but I feel the need to comment on this as the Judge at briscoe's regular store.

Yes, briscoe buys figures from overseas, but he also spends a LOT of his dollars in store. It is not his fault that some figures are not available in Australia- it is Wizkids and Ikon's fault for not supporting the game well outside of the US of A.

I'm a little upset by the miscommunication that led to him having to change his team on the day. He had tried to clarify it beforehand in this very thread but was not specifically answered- nowhere did anyone say that convention exclusives would not be allowed despite being modern age legal. The train of logic was there that could lead to that conclusion, but it was not stated explicitly.

Anyway, not wanting to bring the mood down, but I can't really abide you 'ripping briscoe a new one' and telling him to be grateful for being given any prizes at all, over what was an understandable misunderstanding. A little over the top don't you think?
