Is it just me, or was the layout of that site so horrid you couldn't tell what was going on? Like, who was saying what and replying to whom? It looked like a jumbled mess.

One point: I think that a lot of the more reasonable (YMMV) negativity would dissipate considerably if WK would actively address issues with the line by A) being proactive (e.g. not waiting for people to freak out before addressing widespread quality control issues as with WatX), B) being more communicative in general.
That, however, brings me to another point...
I think that some members have unrealistic expectations for the game and/or will not be satisfied no matter what strides WK makes. Granted, WK could stand to gain a lot more good will with a certain segment of the population, but there are some folks with whom WK cannot win.
I'm less concerned with the unreasonable requests/posts/posters than I am with the folks who can constructively and intelligently discuss certain matters.
TL;DR - I think that legitimate criticism and rampant negativity shouldn't be conflated.
Thrumble, you're on fire today.

That's not what was said at all, which amusingly proves his point.
He wasn't talking about Wizkids perception of the community, he was talking about the communities perception of the community.

Point of order: no discussion is dumb, provided something useful comes out of it. For anyone.
Hopefully what comes out of this is that most realmsters--and specifically anybody claiming to have been slapped on the ass by Wizkids--has no idea whatsoever what they're talking about in regards to Reddit.

Since I used the word "butthurtitude" to describe the atmosphere or state of the 'realms, the only way you can take offense to that is if you read my post and decide it refers to you. That's on you, not me; I specifically avoided singling anyone out, and I attacked the attitude I dislike, not any individuals.
That said, I'm sorry if you took any offense. Please don't take my commentary on the entire site as an attack towards you or any one individual.
So, when you use dismissive and/or insulting language, it's the other person's fault?
Okay.
I wish I could go back in time and share this sentiment with the Mods who gave me infractions for using language that had to misinterpreted to be offensive. I don't really see how "butthurt" could be used in a way that was meant to be anything other than offensive, but maybe I don't fully understand the etymology.

That which is reasonable is highly subjective.
There have been too many threads where any complaint against Wizkids has been met with, "Stop complaining, you should just be happy the game isn't dead anymore!" It's actually been a long-running real life joke with several people I know.
In much the same way that there may be people (Not me, mind you. It's totally possible for Wizkids to live up to my expectations to the point where I wouldn't complain or would freely admit that my complaints were nit picky in nature.) who will complain no matter what Wizkids does, I have seen enough personal evidence that there are people who will ALWAYS say that any complaint is "Nerd World Problems" or the like.
Doing so would be a slap in the face to hyperbole everywhere.
That's a slap in the face to slaps in the face.

Oh, welcome to Reddit. Your free cat and bag of bacon will arrive shortly.

There's a sliding scale, and you know that. "Butthurt" isn't inflammatory enough of a word to provoke the reaction it does. A great deal of posters here are simply waiting for someone to tip over their glass of nerd rage.
Wow, finally some communication. Awesome! 'Bout time, right fella's? Oh wait, I'm sorry... "RRawrhr! RhahwwRRh! Wizkids!" "Slap in face!" "Tar n' Feather' em!!'

Ahhh, so Thorgren was correct then. Jumbled mess it is.

From my brief experiences with reddit, that seems to be an accurate summation. Great group of people to go drink with though*.
* my roommate is very into reddit and dragged me along to a meeting of local posters. I brought CAH and we took over a bar and just played that all night. Much fun was had.

I'll take any slap in the face that gives me more info about WK's upcoming plans. That reddit site has a pretty terrible layout, but I'll take it. It actually got me more interested in their DDM line. I'm much more likely to buy them if they aren't on Heroclix dials! And if I was still going to Gencon (I'm not) I'd definitely be checking out their new D&D Attack Wing game!
