I also don't think the old rules team members were jerks, just that there were several occasion when I'd be reading a thread in the Rules forum and an Orange would post a reply on a thread, but not one relevant to the rule in question. Such action was undermining both of the following strategies:
1) Engagement (since the posts would not actually be useful to the question asked)
2) Disengagement (since they'd be leaving the appearance of wanting to participate but choosing to not to act as a deputy)
Whatever their 'strategy' was, actively arguing against the utility of the 'Final Word' forum was the clearest sign (to me) that the rules team was retreating into a shell. Hopefully we (HCRealms) can get the Final Word back on its feet, with clear errata (from the Player's Guides) and watch list updates...both with as much bibliography as can be arranged.
I'd love it if the final word was put back up and running, especially with it able to be integrated into the Units Section. I remember Typhon mentioned it was a lot of volunteer work to copy and format everything over, and I know I wasn't the only person to immediately volunteer. I never heard back though. (Somewhat understandably. )

I think the people that contribute to the negativity know who they are. They'll of course blame Wizkids for making making these changes, but they'll never blame themselves for it.
Trying to find fault in one side or the other just exacerbates the problem when there is a rift. It doesn't matter who is "to blame". Wizkids should answer rules questions on forums. They should. If not this forum, then pick some other forum. Personally I'd prefer it wasn't a WK-controlled forum, based on the history of censorship on WK forums, but even that would be preferable to "email us". "Email us" helps one person. Answers on a forum help everyone who comes to that forum and has those questions. Don't use "rampant negativity" as an excuse to limit support of your customers.

I spent a lot of time here when Harpua, Quebbster and Normalview (and later VladtheImpaler) were deputies. Accounts of them being snide and more likely to make fun of people than to answer rules questions are highly exaggerated.
Well. maybe to you, Rowdy, but you could see some of them being -consistently- snide and insulting to others. :/

That happened once during that great Nightwing nerfing (oh by they way - I emailed them and his trait works right again!!!). Muncho actually logged on and told people to stop.

Wow, was I missing out on this thread. Anyway, this is sort of the bed we made for ourselves. I have said on several occasions how I hate the rules forum because they tend to be a question followed by 100 or often more posts that have different opinions. Then after that you finally get the ruling your looking for its followed by 50 or so posts arguing with the ruling. I honestly would have done something like this a long time ago.
One it moves more stuff to the official Heroclix web page (sorry realms fans at the end of the day this is a fan page that most casual Heroclix players don't know about ant can't navigate) which is really how it should be.
Two it may streamline the whole rules clarification process. How nice would it be to go to the actual Heroclix web page, look at a figure, and under the figure have an emailed question(s) followed by the answer(s) with no "fluff"? That would just make life so much easier and there would be no more "that questions already been asked" or "even though your the official ruling I'm still going to argue for the next 50 posts because I dont like it".
I see this as a win for Heroclix in general by potentially having an uncluttered question and answer section. Yes there will be less debate (well no debate actually) but most of the time, the follow up questions were so out there anyway that it seemed less like an actual question and more like "stump the rules arbiter" time.
Even without the rules section being official, I will still frequent this sight, but I'm happy to see that rulings will be made elsewhere.

If this actually happens, if they decide to bring back their own forum or make their own site more comprehensive for rules, I'd be all for it. But who knows how long that will be before it's set up.

Well, you have to tack on an extra month to whatever they say because it will be held in customs and there will be unforeseen weather anomalies.
Do what you want and claim you got an email. Also,FWIW, official response on Resurrection man re: shield is no to team symbol and vehicle. No explanation or reasoning just...no
So the years between LoSH starter and WoS (RDs became a thing between Hammer of Thor and Web of Spider-Man) were a complete waste of time on this board?
Special powers did make things more complicated, yes. But we got along just fine for quite a while even after specials became a thing. I think we'll survive
Don't forget that even before you deputies were empowered, Nbperp was answering questions.

If posts here are no longer official, it will just go back to the way it was before. You didn't need to have a special colored background to be correct; a correct answer is a correct answer regardless of who gives it.
But what will people asking rules questions demand now while ignoring dozens of people giving the exact same correct answer?
