Yeah, it was really early in the morning and I hadn't slept yet, some words get switched around. Thats why I'm not a lawyer.
But CHEWY, you are getting stuck on when the triggering is occurs. Empower triggers [when an adjacent friendly character makes a close combat attack]
Super Strength triggers [when a character moves by its own action].
So Empower is checking to see if an adjacent friendly character makes an attack, if that is TRUE, it gets +1.
Super Strength checks to see if you are moving because of your own action, if that is TRUE, you have the option to pick up AN object, or put down AN object, but not both. Since Hypersonic Speed is 1 movement as a part of 1 action it does not allow you to pick up 2 objects, or put down 2 objects, or pick up an object and put down an object.
If you move via Charge and pick up an object, and don't have an object at the end of that movement, and have Sidestep, you may pick up an object during that Sidestep, since Charge was 1 movement as part of 1 action, and Sidestep is a new movement as a part of a new action.
Rep to you! Clear, easy to follow. Thanks!
Well, what if there is no tomorrow? There wasn't one today.

From the glossary: Move: What a character does when traveling between 2 squares and each square in between is identified as being traveled through.
And Super Strength: When this character moves due to its own action, it may either pick up an object or place an object it is holding.
There's nothing in super strength that defines one action that causes movement triggers obje t pickup. You move anytime you go between two squares, which is why you can pick up an object at any point during a movement. And the only thing that seems to imply you can pick up only one object is the term "an", which we know doesn't mean "one" (see Valkarie special power example).
So for a character who can hold two objects, he moves from square A two square B. He has moved, and picks up an object. Then he moves from square B to square C, he has moved which triggers the ability to pick up an object.
Wizkids got this ruling wrong based on their own rules.

Holy crap on a cracker.
I think at this point we're just being trolled.
If the rest of you want to continue with this nonsense, then be my guest.

Lawyers are why we need to constantly add new rules which just makes things more complicated for everyone. Sounds like the rule lawyers want Wizkids to change Super Strength to.....
Super Strength: When this character moves due to its own action, it may either pick up an object or place an object it is holding; THIS IS A FREE ACTION.

I don't believe that would work, because you can't be given a free action in the middle of another action. It's why you can't outwit during charge.
What it needs to say is specifically you can only pick up one object during an event where you move under your own action. Nothing in the rules as we have them uphold wizkids' ruling on this issue. In fact, they contradict it.
You are being trolled. By wizkids.

I'm thankful we have a clear answer to this question. Both sides made concise, intelligent, and civil arguments for their opinion. We all deserve a pat on the back for that..
I knew this was tempting fate this thread was going so well.
I knew this was tempting fate this thread was going so well.
The point I'm making is that we aren't all playing with the same rules. Unless you read this thread, a judge could make the wrong call in the next time this comes up. We need this kind of clarification in the new PAC.

You're saying this isn't the droid you're looking for?

I'm sorry, but Valkyrie's power does mean "one" it just doesn't care WHICH one, as long as one of the people within the range has the required keywords it works. The rest are superfluous.
Interesting, I hadn't directly looked at Hypersonic Speed, but the PAC version no longer mentions the continuing movement. If it did, that would really clear up the "is Hypersonic two move actions, one before and after?"
HYPERSONIC SPEED Give this character a power action and move it up to its speed value; it adds 2 to its d6 roll when breaking away and can use . During this move, this character may, as a free action, make one close combat or ranged
combat attack with its range value halved for the attack. This character must be in a
square where it could legally end its move in order to make the attack.
Personally, I believe it do be one move action, just with the ability to free action close combat or range combat attack at some point during.
