Well, your statement was at least constructive and positive.

I got that from Heroclix Rules Team themselves. It makes sense, but to be clear, it is not something I made up. Also the self-contained bystander-token-with-rules concept:
Quote
"This character’s costed actions don’t count for your action total."
Often this is the only “special” text a bystander has. And that can cause card layout issues, as well as some gameplay issues like needing to constantly remember a special power (or trait) when it’s only relevant to Action Totals.
We’ve also given out bystander tokens at events in the past and may do so again, and they play better if all of their information is right there on the front.
Are new rules officially in effect as soon as they are released or are they subject to the same delay as the game elements for new releases? I was told there was an article somewhere that says the new changes aren't official til August 1, but I can't find it.
Team Ragnarok:Splitlip
States where I've played ROC and/or WK events:
TX, IN, IA, AL, CO, OK, CA, OH, MD, AR, TN, KS, GA, FL, LA, MS, PA
So at an event they ruled can no longer close attack on diagonal if you have 2 characters blocking. Diagram below
OT
AO
So A can close attack T if both O are opposing. Not even using Quake.

Who is they?
I mean, that's wrong no matter what. But specifics help people from over reacting.
"I think it is very important to consider your venue a community and not a commodity." - tyroclix
I'm not trying to be harsh, but this is a forum on a well known hobby site that reaches the world. You can't assume people know anything about a specific event you're talking about, unless you say it. And some people love to bash on Wizkids over literally nothing, so unless you give info, they're apt to assume it was some judge at a Wizkids sanctioned event.
Further, without knowing the why of why anonymous judge made such an awful ruling, there's really no reason to post it in the first place.

It was just a local event. There were a few crazy rulings. Don't know if it is worth going back cause of the rulings. That was one. Another was Batman knocked out wall in front of him. So Batgirl and Harvey Dent were on other side, was told the wall and Dent blocked Batgirl. Now I understand outwit won't work but a close attack?
Was told these were new rules no explanation. So wanted to check here for proof to show the judge.
Yeah that isn't how adjacency or close attacks have worked for 16+ years of Heroclix.
Maybe they were confusing that diagonal walls are not adjacent and can not be Close Destroyed anymore...?
I definitely would be hesitant to go back because if they messed something this simple up. It will probably be a nightmare for anything remotely complicated.
Can't believe I am quoting this but show the judge this I guess:
Quote
ADJACENCY
Squares on the map that touch each other, including only through their corners on the diagonal, are considered “adjacent.” Most squares have four adjacent squares on their sides and four adjacent squares on their diagonals for a total of eight possible adjacent squares.
Adjacent game pieces are those occupying adjacent squares.

CLOSE ATTACK REQUIREMENTS
In a close attack, the target must be adjacent to the attacker. Note that you normally do not need to draw a line of fire to the target of a close attack.
There is a difference between PROTECTED: Pulse Wave (all caps) and Protected: Pulse Wave (only first letter capitalized.) The former is for the entire character, the latter is only for the power or ability it applies to. This case for Great Size is the latter one.
Can you please explain this? I'm not sure I understand it. So a Colossal can or cannot withstand Pulse Wave?
CAAV058 Immortal Hulk is here. There is no stopping him. For he will rise again and crush your bones. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
