Wow...I take a dedicated shove to get back into Yu-Gi-Oh after 8 months, and I'm greeted with this. It seems so different from October '04, when the Golden Age of Bannings was ushered in on these shores... hm. I suppose it's just the Yata, the CED, the Magical Scientist of the era...a massive "Ban-Nukage" of the top decks in October.
I hate to seem aggresive in nature, but theres more then BTH, quite a compiled list. But that will always be the smaller list. He is almost always summoned, after they play there heavy, or vortex, or whatever. You all see my point, he is seldomly summoned when there is a threat against him.
Thank you,
Azurai Aeon
After worlds hits, who knows what Konami has planned ban list wise. They could base the new ban list off what is the most popular decks are at Worlds and Nationals around the Globe. Sometimes certain cards don’t make the ban list only to be added on the next time around, such was Chaos Emp Dragon. Yata was Banned yet CED remained playable, next lists came around and poof, CED was Banned. I personally would rather see Jinzo Banned than BLS, because if Jinzo is Banned then a host of traps become available to take care of BLS.
Personally I think it’s sad that so many talented duelists use BLS when they don’t need to. Perhaps if they were to ban it we would see some different deck types.
Really, she creates no lock. Even with TER, the monsters go to the graveyard, which isnt as powerful as BLS's bye-bye-from-game effect. In which, the Yum with TLC takes 3 cards to set up. She uses your normal summon for the turn. In essence, that is a cost. She wont be banned, nor restricted, or even semi-restricted, all in my opinion that is.
Thank you,
Azurai Aeon
I agree with Azurai on the fact that Tsukuyomi will NEVER be banned, restricted, or semi limited because it isnt that good by herself. On the other hand Metamorphisis and Scapegoat should be limited to 1 and BLS should be banned. :devious:
Also in the second catagory, I am. I love the card, and some times am drawn close to its graciousness being sleeved in my deck, but I do not use him. Hoping I never will.
Thank you,
Azurai Aeon
I though I am completely unaware of the tournament scene for Yu-Gi-Oh!, I can say that it is no better with other games. Particularly Magic: The Gathering. The last three Regionals I've gone to, in addition to the last two Qualifiers, and my first Nationals, I've (at each one, respectively) played against only maybe seven or eight different deck builds. Last year, at the Regionals/Qualifier/Nationals tournaments, in about 600 rounds, I played three different deck types. So, I played against three decks 100 times each. It got boring, to say the least, and this Regionals will be no better.
But, it will be this way when any game begins to have regional, national, and international tournaments. Most people go to these events to win, not necessarily to just have fun. If this is a new development in Yu-Gi-Oh!, you should expect it to only get worse.
interesting Question Morpheus1981, I feel that i dont not fall in any of those catagories. I love using black luster soldier, though i do feel it is getting abused. I hate when a duelist relys on it to win, though have found the times when i have had to rely on it. I reluctantly have to say then that i am in the first catagory though drift to the thrid catagory.
I dont think BLS is all that bad .. its pretty good actually, but personally i played it for a week and took it out of my deck ... havent played since ... i just think that anything that requires too much to summon regardless of the effect is too .... umm.... ok im just lazy and i dont want to spend the time to summon it XD
Meh, BLS is a wimp in my opinion, one mt and tribe or some other 1600+ attack power monster in attack, they become overconfident knowing my Force, and Ring are gone, attack, boom Mirror Wall. They cry. Or my favorite, Snatch Steal, remove itself.
There's a third category. Those who use BLS not because they want to, Either you love him or hate him. But those who use BLS because they are forced to use him because of the pressure of the other ppl that are using him.
That's what I am right now. I would love to switch him out with either Sacred Phoenix or Ancient Gear Golem but right now I HAVE to leave BLS in my deck because the other guy is going to use BLS.
Kinda like darned if you do and darned if you don't.

I myself fall into the second catagory. Loved BLS since the start, but have found
myself disgusted at how abused he is and so don't use him anymore.
